Can't believe the media is making the same mistake again. Will they ever learn?

Picking us to go 8-4 the last 2 seasons made sense. I get it.

Ridiculous amount of questions on offense. However this season doesn't make any sense.

UF has clear answers on offense this season.

Antonio Callaway 700 receiving yards with crappy QB play is returning. Going through his first spring.

Jordan Scarlett 889 rushing yards, 5 YPC, behind an insanely young OL. An OL that is now returning 4 Starters. 8 on the 2 deep depth chart. Return of Antonio Riles, and a promise by McElwain that the physical style of play will return to UF.

9 starters back on offense.

A QB he recruited himself and will have 20 months to groom before the start of the season.

Every opponent UF does not have a CLEAR talent advantage over will either be played on a neutral field or at home.

Why are people still doing this BS of picking UF to go 8-4 and UGA or UT winning the conference?

Especially the UT thing. That I don't get. I expect them to go 6-6 and Butch Jones to be fired after the season.

UGA will take a step forward but still
Has issues on the OL. They will still be way too young at that spot.

Am I missing something?

A team that has been in the triple digits for total offense for years and that will be starting a QB who has never taken a collegiate snap doesn't have "clear answers" on offense.

We also have a lot of questions on defense with 8 new starters and most of the elite talent left behind by Muschamp on that side of the ball now gone.

We might be able to avoid falling off too much on D and improve from horrible all the way to mediocre on O and win 10 again but I think 8/9 wins is the more realistic target.

I think we'll win 10 but of course you never know how it's going to break.

The constant UT optimism is odd. I don't see how they win the East unless both Florida and Georgia have pretty rough years.

I agree with a lot of OP. At this point, I think we're the best in the East until proven otherwise.

I think the offense could do pretty good if one of the new QBs can play QB pretty good but with the QB question there and our D line quality depth issues we should be picked to go about 8-4.

We do get lucky with all the hard games at home or a neutral field for the most part however.

On paper Georgia looks ready to break out if that QB gets some run game support this season. I think most people will pick Georgia to win the East.

Eason is going to have to learn to play better under pressure this year if UGA is going to be any good. He melted last year.

I actually thought he did alright as a freshman considering he had no run game support hardly until their bowl game. I hope he doesn't improve however.

The Gator defense loses 8 more starters for the coming season. However, the replacements have a lot of experience themselves due to last year’s vicious injury bug that sidelined key starters at various times. How good were all of those young replacements? The #8 2015 defense moved up to the #5 2016 defense.

Depending on how position battles work out, new DC Randy Shannon could be looking at starting 11 players who started at least one game in 2016.
The incoming class of recruits on defense are so good that a few of them may end up as starters, with several of them at least getting playing time. This is just reloading at certain positions, not rebuilding the entire defense. As with most years in the SEC, injuries are the biggest threat to any team's overall performance.

The good news? The Mc-Gators are 11-1 in the SWAMP and 2-0 in Jax. For 2017 they have only 3 SEC road games, (UK-Miz-SCa) plus the usual WLOCP in Jax.
They begin the season vs Mich at a neutral site in Dallas, Tx, and end it at home vs reFSUcks. In between, they have 7 home games in the SWAMP.

The only real question on the entire offense is at the QB position, and they have very good quality to work with there in the 2 rsFr. One (or both) are taking a big step forward this season. ALL of the other positions are LOADED with quality and depth, including the steadily improving OL and a new OL coach.

Now, the W/L record depends on so many different things that anything from 7 to 11 wins is easily within the realm of possibilities. Instead of worrying about the final number of wins, I'm just going to try and enjoy the games as they are played.
And as always,,, GoooooooGATORS!

When does this mindset become national?

We won the East 2 years in a row?

And they still think UT or UGA will automatically beat us?

UT replaces their QB as well and more starters than we do.

How is UGA going to magically go from a bad to good OL with their most talented guys being true freshmen?

eason throws every ball a second too late

they pick everyone but us because people think you only win with offense while always underestimating our defense... but the offense should finally not be AS pathetic, but i expect nothing less or different until i see it...

UT is coached by trash and have no defense, they are history they lost 4 games with their best team since 01 and are getting worse and every team they play has the coaching advantage... They will never beat us again in the Swamp with a new QB and that soft defense. UGA is always just a waste of talent, their defense will get better but they always blow it no matter what. They are our baseball team

What? No run game support? They had Chubb and Michel as RBs. Their oline was their issue. UGA had a much better running game than we did.

I'm not as sold on Eason yet to be honest. I need to see more. Does he have all the physical tools? No doubt about it. I wasn't that impressed with his passing accuracy/touch. Tends to throw the ball hard all the time.

UGA should be better though. I don't think Tenneseee is going to be very good.

Go look at their run stats in their SEC games. It was pretty bad. Teams were able to pin their ears back and come after him. I think their run game was straight crap against us also. Not sure what the issue was there as that is usually their strong point. They did run good in the bowl game however.

I see they were # 54 in yards per carry but I am pretty sure that was real heavy in non-conference games after watching them some during SEC play.

Better than us isn't saying much with how bad our run game was. We did smoke them that game at least.

Just a flip of the dice really. All three will be mediocre teams, relatively speaking.

UF- Still has glaring QB questions and 8 lost starters on defense.
UGA- Their OC and offense is still a huge question mark but they should be really good on defense.
UT- Completely unknown though I think Guarantano will be better than Dobbs.

You will win the East again. UT is a mess and will be lucky to win 6 games. UG is rising, but still too early in the Smart Regime. Who is left to compete against you in the East? I think you win by default.

The question comes when you play us and Bama in the SECCG. Do you improve in those two games? Can you win? Do you go to a better bowl?

This^^^

Since UGA has big name RBs and now a big name QB most media members (who do no homework before opening up their mouth) just assume their offense will be successful.

The problem with UGA is they have a bad OL, which isn't going to allow those guys to play up to their potential. Just a fact.

Yeah, he does, but nothing abnormal for any frosh, even the really good ones. I think he did really well, considering there was limited run support. He can make all the throws and seemed to go to the right guy most of the time. As his confidence grows, his anticipation should improve.

BTW, which two mediocre teams will be in the ACC-C game for 2017?
Who will be the crim starter, and what's the over/under on him staying out of jail?

I remember when people thought that it would be the crims vs the thugs every year in the ACC-C game, but that hasn't happened even once yet. o_O

PS -- I'm also hoping that the latest short-order cook stays with the crims, or at least if he flips, he flips to other than the ville... :D

is there some type of key available to unlock your secret coded wording? Very fascinating. Reminds me of rain man...

if mac gets beat the same way by fsu 3 years in a row good luck to his life

Maybe UF should switch to the ACC, where they'd have a great chance to make the 4 team playoff nearly every year....

Then the SEC could take in reFSUcks to replace us and everyone could see what happens to the criminole's chances.

Now that change would really be worth watching.... o_O

Edit PS -- Should we start a petition to get this change in the works? :D

Beating UGA 2 years in a row and winning the East 2 years in a row. Winning 19 games in his first 2 seasons. Is a damn good start.

Especially with the offensive roster he inherited. 7 OL on scholarship, and no help at WR or QB.

This is the first season all WRs and QBs were recruited by Mac

and at the end of each season not only did we lose both years, we had the worst offense in the nation both times... if we do that again there's no excuse for him to defend. Haven't scored a real TD against FSU in 3 of the last 4 years, that's pathetic against an ACC team that gave up 63 in just one game...

Not quite correct on the WR's -- Brandon Powell 5-9 184 Sr

But All RB's and LB's.

And in addition:
9 of 10 WR's - 90%
8 of 9 CB's - 88.9%
11 of 14 OL - 78.6%
6 of 8 DE's - 75%
6 of 8 DT's - 75%

While stalker dunny-goaters exist, to point out even less with their infantile 'diabolical schemes.'
It's curious how much of your life you spend on people that you can't stand.

It's mind numbing how much of your loser life you spend getting drunk and then attempting to run chit on your obvious better's, with your typical diabolical (infantile) schemes... (must not have anyone to wipe his infantile chitty azz for him anymore either)

Lol

Diabolical schemes...LMAO. This guys persecution complex is on another level. You really aren't that special sweetheart.

But to be fair, the team that scored 63 was nearly good enough to beat Kentucky.
