Big test for the Canes tomorrow, hopefully a great game and an indicator where our program is at the moment.

GO Canes!

Our scoring is better this year but our defense not as strong. Canes look solid so far this season. Should be a good game.

Miami on Tuesday followed by at No. 1 Michi St on Saturday. Tough week for the roundball team.

Miami and Mich St. games will be a good measuring stick to see where we are at (weird saying this) but I expect both games to be good games. Are games have been more exciting this year then last, a faster pace which is fun to watch. They D needs to get better. and Egbunu is growing into a good post player.. he reminds me of Patrick Young.

Yep. We have a dominant inside game and rebound like crazy. Outside shooting is a problem and as you say, the defense is not as stout. This is where we miss Pelphrey

Mark Richt will be at the game tonight - good news for the Gators.

BTW - It is on at 7:00 on ESPN2 for those wondering.

Getting killed on the boards, cant make threes and getting out hustled. That is how you have a 9 point deficit at the half

Miami is outhustling us and being much more physical inside. And their guards and way better than our guards. Gator's major weakness is guard play. Can't shoot, get beat on defense way too much, dribble around too much and make too many bad passes.

If you cant' shoot 3's you are going to suffer on the road, especially since everyone seems to hit everything against us.

Miami is favored in the 2nd half, so vegas is saying we have no chance to win at all.

Just getting killed on the boards. Our guys are playing very timid.

We still have a ways to go.

Has anyone ever bricked more lay ups than Kasey Hill?

That kid is just awful

Miami appears to be the better team.. Certainly better guards..Rodriguez is fantastic and the transfer is damned good. The big man is tenacious. But our big guy is improving by leaps and bounds....Our shooting from the guards is horrible.....Casey H still cannot shoot a FT. And his outside shot is awful...

Miami's PG and SG have 30 points. Our PG and SG have 4 points.

That is the difference in the game, plus the second chance points Miami has with offensive RBs.

They are the better team

Mercifully, Hill just fouled out on an open breakaway. Offensive foul. He is just awful.

The team needs a PG in the worst way. Hill is the Treon of the basketball team. I'm not sure why Hill still starts to be honest. That and we can't shoot again for the 2nd year in a row. Mike White needs to shorten the bench. I anticipate he will do that as we get into SEC play. He better do that because you can't get any continuity or players can't get into the flow of the game if you playing 10-11 guys.

Miami is a very experienced team. 3 5th year senior starters. Their guards are light years ahead of our guards. Miami will be an interesting team to watch come tourney time. All that experience along with excellent guard play could lead to a deep run, however, Miami is basically 3 studs and a supporting cast and that will make them ripe for an upset early on. Still a work in process for the Gators, but playing this tough competition should help us. We will be squarely on the bubble all year I believe.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if we lost potential incoming freshmen when Billy left? I have to assume we did, but I am wondering if this is approximately the team that he would have coached.

Team: Two rsSr's. Four walkons. Four xfers. Five returning starters. Eight are 6-8 or taller.

He lost one 4 star PF that de-committed and went elsewhere.

Players brought in by White: (he successfully re-recruited 3 of BillyD's 4 recruits while bringing in an additional 2 others.

SG/PG KeVaughn Allen 6-2 183 Fr **** - HS - Little Rock, Ark PoY

SF/PF Keith Stone 6-8 233 Fr HS **** - Deerfield Beach, FL

PF Kevarrius Hayes 6-9 210 Fr *** HS - Live Oak, FL
--------------
~SF Justin Leon 6-8 196 Jr *** - JuCo xfer - Conway, Ark. (JuCo AA - followed White to UF)

~SG Jhonny Victor 6-4 178 rsFr - PW-O - Orlando, Fla. - Gator 2 sport athlete - T&F High Jumper & Triple Jumper.

2016 Recruits so far: (they are HS teammates)

PG Eric Hester 6-3 175 **** - Oldsmar, FL
(alley-oop)
PF Dontay Bassett 6-8 205 *** - Oldsmar, FL
===============

They have bought in to White's coaching and plan.
Their team shooting % has been atrocious so far.
So far, IMO, Hill has not lived up to his 5 star MickyD-AA rating, under Billy or Mike.
I hope that he hits the ON switch sometime soon,,, o_O for his sake and for ours....
