Called the sports information office to verify and complain

Many of them aren’t being televised
season 13 GIF
It’s not totally fair how they’re dealing with people specially for my friends and family that are strong gators that are out of state.

It’s not only about winning and money. Family and tradition should be important but now just completely neglected and ignored

And yet I was brought up that life is not fair, and it’s how we deal with it that sets us apart.

Whats the number so I can call and complain? Im quite pissed about this. I cant go due to family obligations. So that means I cant watch my teams spring game at all? Thats insane and has me rethinking my level of support to the program.

You do know that many universities aren’t televising their spring games and many have canceled them all together. You guys are pretty funny, and if you use this as a basis for your support to the program that’s a pretty sad take.

So if those programs decide to all wear tutus for uniforms, we should follow suit? I dont give a crap about other programs. As Jason said, the logic isnt there for this decision.

I think it's fair to complain, I don't get the "life's not fair" comments.

Football is a sport that is heavily reliant on having an audience and fans. If the fans don't get what they pay for and expect, there is no reason you can't let the organization know you don't approve.

By the same logic they could just cancel televising all the games. I know that's a bit hyperbolic, but it's not unreasonable to see this as a negative.

Also those teams that cancelled games probably have even more fans complaining than we do. Just because the admins decided to do it doesn't make it impervious to further discussion.

Well it's nice to know your complaints are not just limited to message boards & you complain about various mundane aspects in all parts of your life
So you'd define watching gator football as a mundane part of your life? Look its not the end of the world, but its something many enjoy and are accustomed to watching. To act like this decision is above criticism is wild.

The game is in fact being broadcast.

It is streaming on line... which is how things are done these days.

Complaining about "TV time" these days is like complaining that they are not sending out morse code updates over the telegram.
The fact that a board full of rabid gator fans are unaware of said streaming broadcast tells you just how well its being marketed.

I assume SEC network will replay it later in the week. On TV

I have family and friends that live out of state they want to see their gators, live in action .. is that too much to ask for anybody?

The UAA website shows is being steamed live in ESPN+ and SEC+
I think it was saying that previously before yesterday. I think that they made the decision yesterday to not display the game visually though media but maybe they just not updated with current information???

Universities have no choice but to stop televising those games because other teams are watching those players and offering more considerable monies to play for them. Universities are advertising their talents for bigger paydays, especially those unhappy with who is ahead in their positions. Unfortunately, the public is paying the price, but it is a new reality.

Keep what you have at bay to prevent poaching.

No complaining will change this new reality; get used to it.

This is just so stupid. So ultimately the fans that suffer. And if the fans continue to be displeased, then the fans lose interest. If College football is not careful and get things fixed. It’s going to end up like baseball where America had lost interest, and football will suffer in the end.

Complain to NIL. This is what is causing this dark mode

Jason didnt buy this argument and neither do I. Acting like you can hide your roster in 2025 is a poor argument for limiting fans viewership.

I’m as big of a fan as anybody. I guess I’m still surprised people make a big deal out of spring games. They could not have a spring game and I don’t think I would care. They mean absolutely nothing anymore IMO. Not to mention our starting QB isn’t even playing.

And FWIW @rulers just wants to watch it so he can complain or be negative about the team or the coach. In fact I’m sure he will be negative/complain anyways since that is his “mo”.

I don’t have to watch it to be negative about the coach that’s for sure

Verified , the game is not televised. Also expressed my frustration in a respectful manner. Waiting for a callback for further information and at least some explanation. I think this is really a crappy way to deal with our fans.
Maybe call and complain to the NCAA for allowing this tampering shit to go on instead of the university?

It’s not that easy. The supreme court ruling really screwed the pooch. The NCAA is about as useless as a poopie flavored lollipop. Any rules the NCAA makes to regulate either NIL, or the transfer portal will be rejected by the courts as a violation of antitrust law.

The only true solution to make it legal is Congress would have to fix it unfortunately. They would have to make a carve out for college football with an antitrust exemption under law.

Congress could but however they do not want to fix it. They do not want to touch it because they’re concerned about the negative optics. Most of the players are African-American. It is bad politics to try to make laws that enforce rules to restrict NIL or transfer portal policies. That’s just the truth.

There might be some legislation in terms of NIL, protecting the players from bad actors like agents. But that would be the extent of it.

This argument that schools are canceling these games to prevent poaching is ridiculous. I understand that is what they are saying/doing, but it is straight up stupid. They are just creating worst case scenarios in their mind and implementing terrible ideas based on them.

Of course you will! I mean you are even negative about the basketball team. Do we want to revisit the posts you made during the tournament run we just made? It’s pretty comical and sad at the same time.
Nothing to be negative about basketball team that’s for sure

They accomplished what every fan wants : a national championship. And should be celebrated adequately as such.
