Bama = Class

Ok, if it isn't true that he wanted a starting position after serving his suspension, so be it.

Why was he at home taking on-line classes instead of busting his behind trying to help the team in anyway possible?

How many different ways do I have to write, "You're not in our future plans" for you to get it through your head that he was doing what he was doing based on what he was told?

I'm not going to suddenly think, "Oh gee, I'm going to spill the beans because he asked the same question a different way."

Give it up.

No I asked a different question.

So as soon as his suspension was announced, he was told "you are not part of the future plans"?

He was told that in October. Not December, when he went AWOL.

Do ya think just maybe it was more than just a GNC powder that led to this decision? I said the day he was suspended he would never see another anap at UF.

Foley was (and still is) furious with the Griers for listening to their lawyers advice on appealing the NCAA imposed suspension. He was furious with the lawyer (although there is now something of a truce with that lawyer) for giving the advice. That the advice given was the only possible way to win the appeal was considered to be of no importance.

Grier was essentially done at that point in time. Things went downhill from there.

But Ghost, would you agree it is moderately futile to continue to hire their coaches and expect the same results without following the same protocols (which I am NOT saying we should do)

Also, if you ever move to Michigan to practice family law let me know. :)

I agree.

I've been led to believe that McElwain believes he is somewhat a victim of a bait-and-switch regarding how the football team would be run.

I can get you a good referral to a family lawyer in Michigan if you need one.

I'm just curious had Grier stayed on campus. Worked with the scout teams, studied film, took part in meetings, and worked out with his teammates would he have been pushed out the door?

Ghost was skeptical of Grier when we were winning which tells me something because:

A. He clearly cares more about UF than just football and sports.

B. He just always knows

Have heard something rather similar. Didn't buy it at the time.

I agree with the point Ghost is making about the administration making the decision for Grier. Will's father told several reporters in private that Will wanted to stay. Those unofficial reports are reasonably well known and widely circulated. And I also think the whole "Grier left because he wanted to be guaranteed the starting role" is also part of the UA spin.

The reasons he was told he was no longer part of UF's plans seems to be a bit darker than just what Ghost is intimating. That the UA is mad at Grier is absolutely correct, but not just because of the actions of Grier's lawyer.

Despite all of this "private" information, I still think he should have stuck with the team and made it hard for them to dismiss him. Running home just looks bad.

Everyone is trying to make a bigger story then what it is. He f'ed up. He left and/or got ran off. Oh well life goes on.

It's not a government secret operation. He is one of many student athletes to either transfer or be dismissed.

Categorize it however you want. Quality kids in leadership positions. We haven't had that since Tebow.
No doubt...Saban has college football on lock. Bama is legit from top to bottom. I agree with you 100%....they are professional in how they operate....freaking amazing.

well seeing as college teams have been down overall, Bama should have at least one more championship the last two years, if not one it 4 straight times by now. They have every single built in advantage..

and they actually should have been beat by Clemson if not for two bonehead plays or more especially the two special teams blunders that got them beat. If Bama would have ended up losing that game, and they should have because they got out played.. the narrative over the last 3 years would be much different. Bama severely disappointed me with their play in that game, they were not the better team.

You beat Bama with team speed, tempo and a mobile QB. Clemson was a tough matchup for Saban

Clemson was a tough match-up for anybody. i don't think anybody but Bama would have beat them. Watson is a lot more than a moblie QB, he is truly a great passer.

I hate the phrase "should have" w.r.t. games. The ONLY time it should be used is if the refs make multiple bad calls that directly affect the outcome of a game. Everything else is just part of the game.

Also, Clemson was one of the worst teams in the country in special teams. They weren't blunders, just SOP for them.

Gotta agree with Gray. Clemson had a dynamic offense and decent defense. They had the talent to win the game. They did not. They got out coached and outplayed

The way they gave up the KO return was just flat out pathetic tackling, that should have never gone for a TD. They out played Bama straight up everywhere else, Bama vastly played worse than I expected and so did the smart football guys. Danielson explained it best on Finebaum

Fun fact about Bama and U.S. Since Saban took over in 2007. Look at the recruiting class consistency between the two programs.
