Bama = Class

^^^I agree all the way Sad. Everything about Bama's program should be a blueprint, but a lot of AD's and Presidents are afraid of the football program becoming bigger than the school.

Not saying that's the case a UF, but it happens.

Maybe I don't follow them enough and follow Florida too closely but...

I bet their own players aren't coming up with #NoFlyZone or proclaiming themselves DBU and arguing on Twitter with other teams about being DBU...only to get burned deep later during the season.

They, like Florida had an early season battle at QB. The football universal position of leadership. Neither one of those two QB's missed any games due to suspension to drug use. Both of our "leaders" abused drugs. Don't give me the "college kids do that" line because Bama has college kids last time I looked.

I've never seen Henry do a throat slash gesture. Our starting RB did.

It is a huge difference between the culture of Alabama and Florida. And we see who wins and we see who gets their asses kicked a good few times a year.

I'm serious, it needs to start with recruiting. Have your serious commits go in with suit and tie, sign the dotted line, do the Chomp one time, get to work. None of this Rip this shirt off, toss this hat, play the internet reporters.

I know it is impossible but I wouldn't cry if they put a restriction on the Twitter use.

Shut up and stand behind your coaches decision.

I myself know Jeff Driskel wasn't the best, but the demeanor of the players last year when playing with Driskel vs playing with Treon was day and night. Then those same selfish punks quit on Treon this year.

Bama boys would play for anyone no matter who is under center.

We may have the coach who can turn things around.

But his lackluster demeanor on the sidelines at the Citrus Bowl has me discouraged some.
Alabama will run college football until Saban is no longer the head ball coach.. There is no program even near theirs we are all just looking up at those guys.. Last night Clemson had the best player on the field and Alabama had the best 11 man units on the field..

But Bama recruits the same kids we do...

You have some valid points, but some of it is overstated. Henry flexes his biceps every time he scores. Cyrus Jones 'cooks' after making big plays, etc. They all do the same thing. Remember a few years back when Saban had that rant about the timing of the draft recommendations? It was because his players who received high grades before the bowl game all but refused to play, kinda like our guys this past year.

I agree with you on most things though, I just feel like a lot of it does get scrutinized more heavily because we're losing. I feel it's just this generation of players man. They're coddled from 8th grade on and by the time they get to college they're the biggest babies around.

And his inability to fashion a moderately working offense. I understand we might be a little shorthanded but we're terrible after an entire year to prepare.

You are correct. I remember Richardson, Ingram, and big Amount Cody all had their celebration moves.

It just seems like a tighter ship is ran at Bama. I know we recruit the same kids.

I agree with you, just wish we would tigheten up more.

Blast those twitter fingers AFTER you win something.

Yes he is. There is a reason Saban canned Nuss, this type of game wasn't winnable with Nuss calling the game

The Nuss hire has always been very strange. Guy was pushed out in his previous two gigs, why did we want him?

Our staff outside of Mac and Rumph is pretty average, and Rumph wasn't even originally on staff. We really lucked out when that other dude split.

Everything about how Bama runs its athletic program is a case study in how not to run an athletic program. They go deeply into debt; pour all their resources into football; have the academic side revolve around football; and somehow manage to ensure that all of their players have new Dodge Chargers even when they come from dirt poor backgrounds.

No thank you. I don't want to be Bama.

I like Randy Shannon as a position coach. Yes I know he wasn't great as a head coach. He was part of many championship games as a position coach though.

Not to mention all those Bama players that were walking around in multiple tailored suites and 60k cars. They've had their own issues. Saban runs a really tight ship though and reporters are afraid to question him, much less the fans. So they get away with a lot. And a lot of their guys who have issues suddenly get 'processed' out before anybody can find out then when they leave we find out they've failed 4-5 drug tests.

Do agree with you on some of our players though, they talk too damn much. And I lost a lot of respect for guys like VHIII, McCallister, and others. When VHIII gave up that TD and then pulled himself from the game for multiple series even though he wasn't hurt I bout lost my chit. It was even more annoying hearing the announcers talk about how the coaches were fine with it because he needed to protect his stock. What!? These dudes didn't show up in a big bowl game against a traditional power as if they've ever won a damn thing and can overlook games. Pissed me the hell off.

Spot on!

I do remember Saban being mad when his players didn't play as hard in non championship bowl games. However those players have spoiled themselves by winning ships.

Each recruiting class under Saban has won a Natty Title. I bet it is hard to get up for the Outback Bowl when you are use to playing for titles.

However UF players of current haven't won chit. They should be happy for any postseason bowl. From the Birmingham Bowl to the Sugar Bowl...it doesn't matter, rep the university that gave you the opportunity to showcase your skills.

And I'm really ticked at the spoiled brat Will Grier. Punk azz daddy's boy.

If you made the mistake you claim or you did it on purpose it doesn't matter. Stay with the team. Work your azz off with the scout team. Stay hitting the weights and conditioning. Hit the film room. Then EARN your spot after you serve your suspension.

He actually wanted to be promised a starting position. Lol please fool. Remember, he never fully had 100% control of that starting position until MAYBE after the Missouri performance. We both remember Treon was set to start the UT game but he failed his drug test. Will had a mediocre 3 quarters in that game. He balled vs Ole Miss. Be looked good the first half vs Mizzou, then looked lackluster in the second half. So he put together 7 consecutive above average quarters and wanted to be promised a starting position(which he never fully won) when you come back? Please.

He was told, and I quote, "You're not in our future plans." He's gone for a reason. Don't bother asking for an explanation. I'll not give it to you.

Your final paragraph is completely untrue. It's spin coming out of the UAA. The coaching staff is trying to write its narrative for why it should not get fired after the third year.

Ok, if it isn't true that he wanted a starting position after serving his suspension, so be it.

Why was he at home taking on-line classes instead of busting his behind trying to help the team in anyway possible?

MeatChicken regressed significantly under Nuss. I am not sure what anyone sees in the guy.

My biggest fear is we made yet another hire that is based on a philosophy that died 4 years ago. We seem to be a little 'out of touch' with the beat of CFB

Randy gets and A as a position coach and a D as a recruiter. Overall an above average guy if you can surround him with some tenacious recruiters.

I got no beef with Grier, but your overall point about his performance is spot on. We were so beaten down with bad offenses and bad QB play that just simply being 'average' had everyone wanting to have Nuss' and Mac's baby. We most definitely had personnel issues but on the whole the offensive coaches didn't do a good job. Bama inserts a guy last year that played RB for 3 years and they go to the playoff with him in year 1 of Kiffin's system. Meyer wins a title with his 3rd string guy. Baylor loses 3 QB's and keeps on scoring. TCU is playing with ex walk-ons at QB and keeps on scoring. Malzahn took Auburn to a natty in 13' with Marshall a guy who had spent the previous 2 1/2 years as a DB at UGA. But you still have people making excuses for our coaches not being able to put together a coherent gameplan against FAU and Vandy and blaming it all on the QB.

All that said, Grier should still be on the team. Maybe since we can with with Mac's dog at QB they feel they don't need him. They're the smartest guys in the room. We will see what all this Del Rio talk is about soon enough, I'm not expecting much.

The coaches not doing something different for the Michigan game really puzzled me.

I think they did early on. We varied some formations to help the o-line, ran some read option, threw some timely screens, and actually involved Treon in the run game for once. And we had 200+ yards at the half because of it. Then we fell behind by multiple scores and we went back to asking a guy who is clearly not capable to drop back time after time and make downfield reads between a shitty oline. We panicked.

The coaches not doing something different for the Michigan game really puzzled me.

Why did they not run the heck out of Treon? What did the coaches or Treon have to lose? He won't be the starting QB next year. Did they not want to get him hurt because he needs work this spring learning his new DB or WR position?

I was puzzled.

Maybe next time you talk to Jeremy you could pass that on to him? If we are unwilling to do that why keep hiring Bama coaches?
