Bad news, nolec, I think people have had enough of wearing worthless masks

So in July, the state of Alabama started a mask mandate. We still have hundreds of cases every day, which @Nolec will never admit proves that masks don't work.

In the 4 months we have had mask mandate, I have spotted maybe 5 people in that entire time that weren't wearing a mask. Everyone did, which also kills the dem talking point that cases keep rising cause people aren't wearing a mask. That's bullshit, EVERYONE is wearing a mask.

Until today. Today I saw more people NOT wearing a mask than I have in the previous 4 months combined. What I took from that is they know this is all political and Trump is about to win and end it all.

In this regard I’m more in line with @GhostOfMatchesMalone That mask in general don’t work very well but I don’t believe it’s because they don’t work I believe it’s because people don’t wear them and wear them correctly and I really don’t think it prevents anything other than theoretically slowing down the inevitable, because we’re all gonna be exposed, and possibly lower in the viral load when you do catch coronavirus.

But never let germ theory stand in the way of a @GhostOfMatchesMalone Siri and never let reality stand in the way of the less fear mongering about coronavirus either.

I think it means it's really tough to draw a statistical correlation to mask mandates and viral spread...but that might not have anything to do with masks.

It may be that people get it from each other in their homes. If Wal-Marts and Grocery stores were superspreader locations we'd know by now with the contact tracing we're doing. Remember in the Spring when BabyDoc Cuomo said that nearly 70% of new cases in NYC were people that said they never went out? Could be shared air in the ventilation systems was spreading the virus. That happened in Korea with SARS.

I think both extremes are wrong...masks aren't magic and probably don't do much if you're not distanced from an infected person for long enough, but it's possible they could disperse the 0.3-0.06 micron droplets a little and reduce the viral load if you come into casual contact.

What is interesting is the mortality rate is going down significantly with all these new cases. I would estimate the current mortality rate to be below 1%.

Mortality rate in March was around 7%. Now it's down to 0.14%, same as the seasonal flu, according to WHO.
