Gators start the season strong against the Aggies of New Mexico State, hanging 61 points, but, you know, it's NMSU, so still very skeptical...
But, still, after that first passing TD, all Gator fans everywhere let out a collective fist pump...
...and breathed a sigh of relief.
Us Gators were still skeptically optimistic, however, because, well, you know, Muschamp was not that long ago.
Up next were the Pirates of ECU at another night home game in the Swamp. While the Gators squeaked by, breathing another sigh of relief, the headline after this Gator game, however, was our new head coach who had his own method of sideline discipline, somewhat dividing Gator nation as to whether it was appropriate.
Next up was a visit to Lexington to play the Wildcats. Gators were a little worried about the atmosphere for their young team, especially at night, but our Gators pulled through once again. UK fans everywhere are still crying big blue tears after 29 years in a row.
Heading into the UTjr game, Gators were still skeptical, having barely beaten an ECU team at home and holding on to beat a UK team. Regardless, the toothless army came to Hogtown hoping for a win. While it looked like the Gators' streak of Ws over UTjr would end at an even decade, the Gators battled back to win, delivering a massive donkey kick right in the Vols and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. The Vawls missed a last second FG to lose the game, making 11 in a row.
But Butch thought it went in...LOL!
Anyways, at this point, Gators everywhere are like
Then the Ole Miss Rebels came to town and the Gators looked incredible, making Gator nation very proud and getting the attention of the entire country, including the Dawgs as they get blown out at home by Bama.
The McElwain train keeps rolling into Columbia, MO and takes care of business, avoiding the letdown. Expectations are growing while Gator fans everywhere are ecstatic (and shocked) about the new #8 ranking and the 6-0 record.
The Gators now find themselves heading into Baton Rouge Saturday night, facing a matchup against the top ranked SEC school.
GEAUX Gators!
