Roger Goodell: NFL admits 'we were wrong' on player protests, says 'black lives matter'

Adios Goodell and NFL. If you think so little of your fellow citizens and so many of your fans, who are law-abiding, people-loving Americans, and law-enforcement that protects all of you and your mostly taxpayer-subsidized stadiums, then go to hell. You and your players can line your pockets with billions every year with someone else’s money. Perhaps Antifa and Black Lives Matter. It’s time to boycott the NFL. I am. Done.

Drew Brees tried to take a principled stand but the negative publicity was too much. I was disappointed that he apologized but I understand why he did.
Why did he do it? Sometimes it takes guts to stand your ground. That's what Peter did when he died as a believer of Christ and was crucified upside down on the cross. What would have happened to the Christian movement if he would have apologized for his radical stance for Christ?

This is horrible. I hate to say it (and I thought it would have never reach this point in America) but I do believe we need a powerful police force or national guard that won't kneel or better yet our military defending us the innocent from these thugs by lethal force. Locking up the criminals and stop setting them free. Are you kidding me? All of them are thugs. Kicking a white man (by a white man) while he was knocked out, and then hearing a woman in the background saying, "Black Lives Matter." It's got to stop!

Tough position for Goodell: He's saying this to appease the NFL's players, which is always his fallback position. But in doing so he risks alienating at least half the NFL's fans, which he can't survive without.

A strong leader could find a way to incorporate the concerns of both parties and move forward in a way that connects with both. Roger isn't that leader.

Goodell already was a villain from being a hardass.

Well, what do you expect from some guy for only $40 million a YEAR? Competence? Time to hit your re-set button on that!
Someone woke him up and asked him a tough couple of questions. What you see is a buffoon worried about his paycheck.

It took you long enough nailed-head. I've been done with them for years now.

I tried to come back briefly in 2010, but after the NFL so blatantly chitted Tim, that was the final straw for me. o_O

Direct TV recently gave me the NFL Sunday Package >FOR FREE< and I told them that they could stick-it. I won't watch them even if they paid me to do so. I also won't support any business that pays for advertising during NFL games.

I have a feeling that they are giving it away FREE now, because so few are willing to pay for that kind of garbage. :p

Worried about divorce. Sadly, Sweet Baby Jane appears to have married for money or he is excellent when the lights are out. I see no other reason why she married him. Fox lost bigly the day she married the weasel.

At this rate they will be giving a black power salute to the rainbow flag and playing two hand touch.

They drew the line in the sand with this debate and though I loved the NFL as a child it ain't what it was in the 70s. I'll actually get to spend some quality time with family on Sunday and always place God above all things on this earth. If they think BLM will keep them afloat with 13% of the population then they have marketed themselves out of a huge TV market throughout America. China won't tune in as they did for the NBA

Always enjoyed watching Jane. Unfortunately she had to be on with Shepard Smith.

Goodell will change the opening of NFL games with a BLM chant with a fist in the air to stand against fascism. Afterward, they shall all kneel for the playing of the NA.

If BL's really M'ed, then all those NFL millionaire's would be putting their $$$ back into bringing up the living standards in their own communities, instead of on fancy cars, drugs, alcohol, ho's, BBQ, gold chains and jewelry, while living in their mansions.
And the same goes for the black entertainers, actors, singers, CEO's etc....

Instead they want the tax dollars from the workers of all other races to do it for them, with free education, free job training, unemployment, welfare, food stamps, quotas, and now with BS reparations.
Note: since many blacks owned slaves too, do all blacks also pay into reparations, or do the black slave owners just get a free pass?

Less than 18% of all southerner whites ever owned even a single slave, but we still get blamed for 100% and are expected to pay out the nose for the Dim-Moe-Rat's that owned the slaves and instituted the KKK. o_O

It's time for the vast majority of good American blacks to stand up and put a stop to this chit. I think that ALL High Character Lives Matter, of any color, and all of the thugs and criminals of any color should be arrested and tried by juries for their crimes.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” --- MLK

iG long ago took those as words to live by. o_O

I don’t care if that kid was only 14, I would have curbed stomped his frikin teeth out if I had seen that and got my hands on him. Let these punks come to the suburbs like they are threatening to do. I’m a lead farmer, and I got something for them. Our cul de sac is all ex military, and we have some bad mofos.

Kris Kristopherson was attacking the Gov't over lands he said were rightfully belonging to Native Americans. The Senator wrote Mr. Kristopherson, "will you cede your thousand-acre ranch to NA people?"
They never heard from him again.

You mean the 'rest of America' that elected Donald Trump President, and will shortly re-elect him for a 2nd term?
You’ve mistaken voting for Donald over Hillary as an indication everyone agrees with all of his thoughts and actions. That’s only true for the cultists ITT.

I admit I returned for most of last season (A big Chief's and Cowboy's fan), but even with some exciting changes taking place with my favorite teams, I will say bu-bye. Been a long time since I've even watched Espin.

Wow - what a statement. Other than the fact you are a democrat and probably vote along democratic lines (like I do republican most of the time), why on earth would you voted for Killary? I'd like you to tell me how she would have helped America? That thought of voting for Killary has the power to boggle the normal, sane human mind and turn it into mush.

The rest of America is out of touch with Moses' Laws (secular society). When we start being obedient to God, only then will there be peace.

Out of touch you say???

The many things that most people today don't know because of their lack of reading and research is legion.... o_O

WARNING -- Only the very strong of heart and mind should read this one:
This book is not for minors, adults only, and even then...

'TRANCE FORMATION of AMERICA' by Cathy O'Brien with Mark Phillips.
Cathy O'Brien is the only vocal and recovered survivor of the CIA's MK-Ultra Project.Monarch mind control operation. -- Copyright 1995

TRANCE Formation of America was released in 1995 after the 1947 National Security Act was invoked to censor this testimony from the US Congressional Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Oversight.

At the time, all 535 members of the U.S.Congress were then given copies of the book, but sadly, I doubt that few (or any) of them ever bothered to read it, IF it was even passed on to them by their staff-office.

I have mistaken nothing you twit. I doubt that anyone agrees with everything that anyone says,,, anywhere. o_O --- I have no trouble picking between the 'lesser of 2 evils' of in some cases, 'the evil of 2 lesser's' either...

While a vast BS intellectual such as yourself will be voting for corrupt sleepy-creepy-Joe and calling that a good-smart vote.

You must be new here. I didn’t vote for Hillary. Can’t stand her. Don’t confuse my distain for Trump with love for Hillary or the Dems.

I just happen to be one of the few independent thinkers OTB.

The police are not the problem, that's like blaming Roman Soldiers for crucifying Christ. The problem is not enforcers of the law it is the disobedience of the sinners that refuse to obey any form of law.
So the police are blameless? That’s why I say you guys are out of touch with most of America.

More stupid 'straw-man' responses from the BS-C911.

No, ALL police are not blameless, just the ones that don't abuse their authority.

Just like all blacks are not to blame for what the minority of black rioters, and looters, and murders, have done in the last couple of weeks

Personal accountability and personal responsibility for all of us is the law. o_O

Exactly, you can not blanket-statement all factions/races of people on either side of the debate.

Okay, my bad. And that's good for you. But being independent doesn't necessarily make you smart. It makes you think you're smart - unless you vote for Trump over sleepy Joe. Otherwise, you'll be voting for a Killary named Joe.
