The shooter has been reported in the area of the Student Union, per the alert shared at 12:01 p.m. At this time, FSU says police are on the scene and more are headed there.

5 dead, multiple shooters (1 maybe dead). Allegedly a planned event by at least 1 former student apparently, timed alongside an announced school shooter training exercise to possibly delay response. My building isn't locked down, but 2 doors down was locked down since there was police chatter of multiple shooters on the east side of campus. My guy on campus thinks might be a 3rd shooter but not sure yet.
At least 5 dead and 4 injured. What a tragic situation and I feel terrible for everyone at FSU due to it.

My sister is up there and I haven't heard back from her since 1 PM EST. Family is in complete disarray. If anyone, I mean anyone, has contact with people there, PLEASE send me a message.
I'm downtown, about 2-3 miles away but i got texts about it instantly just naturally knowing people around town. This happened on the north side of campus right off Tennessee street if you have ever been around tally, but there were a few gun related incidents that directly followed it on the southeast side of campus closer to me that were probably unrelated but added to the confusion. I have an LEO friend who was previous FSUpd who is working on the scene, he told me apparently 3 shooters, but since they've had 2 taken care of they might've ruled out the possibility of a third..
She's a student at FSU. I last contacted her at 1:17 PM EST. She said she was fine and in a safe spot, but now she isn't picking up her phone, and the phone is not dead. I am living in Orlando which means I don't have direct contact with her.
Her life360 is moving which means she is ok and safe. Still not direct call from her but the fact its moving gives me optimism that everything is ok.
Probably a lot of issues getting service with everyone contacting loved ones. I hope she turns up safe.
She has called back, she is safe. The cell traffic was horrific. Praise God and the first responders who came within minutes.

The Democrat and local news is only reporting 6 injured, 5 serious and 1 critical at Tallahassee Memorial. Interesting side note is today was a training day from noon to 8pm for the TPD tactical force on the South side of town that was announced in the paper so that local citizens in that area would not be alarmed by loud booming noises.

G-d won’t help them. Gun laws will. We have the same a lot of mental health issues, same religion, same drug companies as Europe. We have more shooting. The only difference is gun laws.

As a gun owner. I think there should be training. And waiting periods, and insurance. A liability for gun owners over misuse by children. Etc. what’s so crazy about that. Which is the kid of laws most European countries have.
Pharmaceuticals and mental health aren't necessarily politics, though I did not see his comment until you brought it up. 100% of gun tragedies IMO are different levels of mental illness.
I own guns as well so i guess i get a say too? Well i don't mind gun laws, i think there should be more centered around mental health, and i don't disagree with your few examples, though insurance does nothing for safety. There are already laws in place for storage of weapons if a minor has access to the home, and the insurance is that the parent will go to jail if a tragic incident happens with a child and that weapon.
But like i said - none of what you have said would have prevented yesterday. Absolutely None of it. The 20 year old kid stole his mothers personal firearms and walked into a gun free zone and murdered 2 and injured more, all of it against the laws, that did not stop him.
My LEO buddy worked with his mother as an SRO and at the courthouse, so he knows a little bit about her previous personal life and the kids as well, from what she always spoke of. Lots of family issues and other issues with the father, so the mental and possibly drugs side of things would not surprise me.
