A fake field goal AND scientology!!!!!!

Even without the fake, it was a short FG. We had Austin Hardin who was hurt/benched so, the odds were against us.

While it turned out OK for Les, for the exact reasons you mentioned, it wasn't really a smart call by him. JMO

That's right. But we had the ball at the LSU 23 yard line on the next drive with 7:00 to go. We end up losing yards on sacks and throw a fourth down pass to the endzone that Calloway had but it was knocked loose.
My point is this, every coach in America calls plays differently if he's down by 3 with the ball at the 20. If LSU had kicked the FG then the outcome of the game would've changed. No telling how, maybe we kick the fg and tie, maybe we score a TD with more conservative calls or maybe we miss the fg. Who knows. Even with a missed fg though, our drive with 4:00 left might have been called differently if we're down 3 instead of 7.
What if we tackle the kicker? Or if he drops the pass? Either way, in spite of all that happened that fake FG was the defining play of the game. And we should have been expecting it........

I think I was mistaken, maybe the pass to Calloway was 3rd down and then we punted and pinned them at the 1 yard line.

I had turned the game off but when I cut it back on and realized LSU scored on a fake fg, all I could think was how is that possible? Les Miles is known for faking fgs everyone on special teams should have been coached to look for that. You never trust LSU, they will fake punts fgs anything.
