A 64 Team College Football Tournament

In 1999 on another board, I suggested and 8 team CFP.
A 64 team B-Ball type tourney for football is ridiculous imo. 😏
The Conf. Champs of the 5 Tier-1 Conferences. (11 Games + Conf. Champ = 12 Games)
Plus the 3 highest ranked others from all of D1.
In some years, this would allow 2-3 teams from the same Conf. in the playoffs.
This also gives the BSU / UCF type Tier-2 teams a shot at the playoffs.
8 Teams = 4 Games > 4 Teams = 2 Games > 2 Teams = NC Game
This only adds 2 extra games (13 to 15) to their regular seasons if they are the final 2 teams.
The initial 4 losers = A bowl game, (13) for no change.
4 Teams play 1 extra game. (14)
Then 2 teams play one more game. (15)
I figured this out 20+ years ago, so the NCAA should be getting a clue any time now....

--- I think 8 is the right number also that keeps the regular season and conference championships important. It would pretty much assure the 1 and 2 loss Big 5 conference champs would get in.
