Summer doldrums got you down? In less than two months we get to see the Dan Mullen era kickoff against Charleston Southern!!!

Then we get to see if Kentucky can beat us for the first time in my lifetime, that is freaking crazy. They have gotten very close the last few years.

Then we get to see old Mac & Cheeses old team.
You guys ready for some football?

Before 9-1 arrives, we have SEC Media-daze.

Then we have Fall practices to see what's up.

Live in the moment and 9-1 actually gets here a bit quicker...

I should but I am a college football fanatic, I also live in Arizona so the thought of cooler weather is enticing.

We need to get effectively through the “arrest and suspension” season (typically between July 15 and August 30)...before we can truly appreciate the start of the season...

sadgator watches the Alachua County Clerk of Court’s website with as much fear and trepidation as he does the National Hurricane Center website at this time of year...

All part of the culture change needed in Gainesville. Accountability and discipline are needed in a good football team, but more importantly in life. Make good decisions in both.

I watch neither and just let whatever happens,,,, happen.
Worry and anticipation are both a waste of time and energy.
That's my story,,, and I'm stickin' to it....

The winners are pre-pared,,, o_O --- while the losers just sorta happen...

Not sure how this statement squares with blowing off hurricane tracking, but carry on.

There are very many things that you are not sure about, being the clueless dweeb that you always are here.
Worry & anticipation are your hallmarks.

I've been prepared all along, so I don't track them from Africa to N.FL. If they get close, I'll know it. If not, I don't bother with the tracking/worry/anticipation. This is true for me in many areas of life.

A little help with getting through the long hot summer... ;)

Watch these back to back...

And now,,, back to getting through the long hot summer... :)

This might be 2 ** Dan's best recruit for 2018, a P-WO.

Ath Jaylin Jackson 5-9 160 ** (#75 QB-dt -- CB)
(his size at QB, not his athletic abilities, is what kept his ranking down)
Career Stats: (but they don't matter at all, do they?)

Passing - 333 of 597, 55.8% for 5,621 yds, 66 TD's, 28 Ints.
~ He has no problem throwing the ball 50 yds,,, while on the run...

Rushing - 380 for 1,858 yds, 4.9 ypc, 30 TD's, 4 LPF's.

Combined - 7,479 yards, 96 TD's to 32 TO's on 977 plays.

The Gator's latest version of 'Mighty Mouse' he seems to me.... ;)
(please use him, because he has a half-dozen small school ship offers)

Is Frank's still the presumed starter?

It sounds that way but things may be close enough for Mullen to consider someone else if they look better in camp and I would think he may have a quick hook during the season if Franks is still doing the things he did last season.

Fall camp will supply the answer to that question.

I have believed that Trask will be the starter since watching the Spring game.
Of the 3 ship QB's remaining on the roster, he performed the best imo.
Now, even some of the media-morons are starting to accept that as being likely.

I only see Franks playing if both Trask and Jones stink it up or get injured. o_O

For now, Dan has stated that NOBODY has already nailed down the starting QB job.
That fact alone should be a wake up call on who has the 'inside' track to begin Fall practice.

If the previous starter has not already been declared the starter, then he's not likely to be.
Beginning now, it's Trask's job to lose,,, or better yet, to solidify and win.

Frank's has all the physical tools to succeed, maybe he will play better in a quick read or run system.

I read an article on Trask, his high school coach praised him. I believe he never started in high school and was a three star when we got him. He remains a guy that gets talked about a lot but little gamefilm remains.

If Frank's continues to be a turnover machine and Jones is redshirted we may just get our answer.

I am actually on the side that the reads and what Mullen wants the QB to do is going to expose Franks shortcomings even more. Mullen might take more of a 2012 Tyler Russell type of offense with Franks if he gets convinced he cant run what he wants however and not allow him to run the ball much.

I hadn't though about it like that, good point. I was looking at what Philadelphia was doing with the R.P.Os with Nick Foles.

Both are big tall dudes with big arms, but they struggle with conventional multiple read offenses. I'll have to look up the Russell film as I am unaware of what type of offense that is.

He just didn't hardly let Russell run the ball and passed a lot more than he usually does. He didn't do what he did in 2005 and 2006 with Leak using a FB. He did bring Dak in to run the ball some however at times. Unlike Franks so far Russell could actually pass the ball halfway decent however.

That Trask UF Spring game clip shows him passing, and it show him taking off with the ball on a run up the middle.
Jus-damn, but he looks like a QB-dt to me... o_O

Trask's HS coach gave him the 3rd and 7th series in his games, even though he used a small and very fast QB to start in his HS spread offense.
Trask passed for 16 TD's to 0 Ints with a 72% completion percentage.

But that was in HS, so some here claim that for Trask alone, HS performance doesn't count anything for him.
Apparently HS only counts for the ones that buy stars by attending camps.

What does count for him then?
Trask has preformed better than Franks in 3 consecutive Spring games.
The fools that refused to even give him a chance to play,,, got their sorry loser butts fired. (LDR-Appleby-LDR-Franks-Zaire-Franks)

One more month to go, stay sane and legal giys.

I'm assuming fall camp starts in a few days? That should end the problems with arrests for most schools.

Gene Stallings always said the biggest mistake the NCAA ever made was getting rid of the player dorms. Immensely tougher for the coaches to watch over the players when they are living off campus.

Anybody know how our depth chart is shaking up right now? I already know about the off field stuff. Is Franks, Trask or Jones picking up Mullens offense?
