4* WR Swain Commits to the Gators

I was 2 rows behind all the recruits in Section E for the Ole Miss game and I was yelling my ass off the entire game. You're welcome.

This kid is really good. He runs really good routes and has good hands.

With Grier coming back, the whole OL coming back, the RBs coming back, the WRs coming and the pick-ups at the skill position? Hmm...I am beginning to think next year could be a good year too.

Processing and correlating much of the information from several different information sources brings you this report:

#29 WR Freddie Swain 6-2 185 **** 5.9 Citra, FL. (**** ESPN 300 - 247 #24 WR)
Rivals has him as the #21 prospect coming out of the state of Florida.
Hats on the table when he committed on Friday: UF - Tenn, LSU, SCa - Mia, USC.
With additional offers from: UA, Ark, UGa, UK - UL, Mich, NC, USF, WVa, Wis, etc.

“They really made me feel at home every time I went up to Gainesville for a visit,” said Swain. “One of the things that stood out to me was how they treat their freshmen players and enable opportunities for playing time based on production in practice.” Swain pointed out the success of tFr WR Antonio Callaway as an example. Swain took the WR MVP honors in July at 'The Opening,' in Oregon and he will be a Jan. 2016 Early Enrollee. Freddie has also been impressed with the play of UF's rsFr QB Will Grier. "He has been showing that he can get it done."

Against Ole Miss last Saturday, 4 different Gators caught TD passes in the game, and that's the 1st time that's happened against an SEC opponent since Tebow's Heisman season in 2007. The Gators are already No. 42 nationally in passing offense after ranking 106th, 109th and 118th the past three years, and they are still improving weekly. Redshirt Sr WR/ST's Valdez Showers has credited the cohesiveness of the coaching staff to the Gator's improvement at WR. McElwain said coach Kerry Dixon has brought stability to the players, and they're flourishing as a result.
