2024-25 Basketball,,, all things considered...

The O4's stayed and it worked out pretty $$$$$$$$ good for them....
True, but the difference was that the core group - Noah, Horford, Brewer, Green, Humphrey & Richard came back together for a repeat performance. This year's 3 top scorers have no eligibility left. I get your point though. I hope Condon makes the decision to come back, I wish Aberdeen and Alexis would stay and nobody else would leave. NIL makes it a different world than is was 20 years ago - sadly.

I have no dog in the fight, it's just a fan interest in the TEAM.
To stay or go is an individual decision that is made for a variety of reasons.

I was just addressing the Condon stay/go issue only.
First rounder, GO.
Anything else and it's STAY for the degree and a 2026 enhanced draft position.

No guarantees for next year's team if he goes,,,,, or if he stays for that matter.
I personally don't think that he would be an immediate starter if he goes, so if he leaves it's for the 1st rounder big payday, not for playing time. Playing time and learning experience is what he'd get by staying.

To stay?
Basketball doesn't last forever, but the degree will always be there, IF you take the time to earn one.
Of course 'my say' is just more fan farts into the wind....

Gator B-Ballers in the 2025 xfer-out portal:

CG Denzel Aberdeen >>> Kensucky
PF Sam Alexis >>>>>>>> Indiana
PG Kajus Kublickas >>>> ???
====

PF/C Alex Condon and C/PF Rueben Chinyelu, the pair of Soph underclassmen will undergo the NBA's pre-Draft process, so it's yet to be seen if they'll return.

So, why would these guys bail out of a NC team with an All Universe HC??? jus-askin
😉
==========

On the good news side of things:

SF/PF Thomas Haugh has decided to return for 2025-26.
And then Thomas played a critical role in helping the Gators land his former HS teammate at Perkiomen School, #7 PG Xaivian Lee 6-4 180 ****, who joined the Gators as a Top-40 prospect via the portal. (16.9 Pts, 6.1 Rbs, 5.5 Asts and 1.2 Stls -- 43.9% FG, 36.6% 3's) -- Lee had 2 3x-2x's (18p-13r-10a & 23p-10r-12a) in 2024-25.

UF also got SG Isaiah Brown's brother from Ohio-U, CG AJ Brown 6-4 170 Jr **** from the portal. (13.2 Pts, 3.2 Rbs, 1.3 Stls and 1.1 Asts, -- 56.6% FG, 38.8% 3's, 82% FT)

Still on the Portal shopping list:

SF RJ Luis Jr 6-7 215 ***** -- He averaged 18.2 Pts, 7.2 Rbs, and 2 Asts per game last year while winning Big East Player of the Year for St. John’s.

Then there's the incoming Freshmen:

#9 CG Alex Lloyd 6-3 165 Fr **** - Ft. Lauderdale, FL

#8 SF/SG CJ Ingram 6-6 195 **** - Hawthorne, FL - Cornelius/legacy

Apparently the media doesn’t agree with you that Golden is all universe since he got ZERO votes for COY.

And that's all you got at of that post huh? Why am I not surprised.... 🙄

Besides, being a CoY is no big deal, and it has no relationship to a HC's quality.
Not even if it's 3X's in differences conferences....
😉

No, but that’s all I felt like commenting on.

I assumed that coach of the year meant that your team exceeded expectations due to superior coaching with lesser talented players. Perhaps I was wrong. Seriously not even one lousy vote?
Ok, got it out of my system.
Agreed. COY is usually a joke. I will take the natty. Others on her can measure greatness by whatever helps them sleep at night..

I hated to lose Aberdeen but I think we will be OK in the back court. He was experienced in Todd Golden's system so we will miss that. All in all I like how next year's team is shaping up.
Condon is currently projected as the 40ish pick in the draft so I see him coming back, hence the reason Golden is not going heavily after any front court players.

Agree - If he and Reuben both return our frontcourt is set. Just hope the group of guards he puts together jell close to what this year's group did. Haugh at the 3-slot will be interesting.
