2024-25 Basketball,,, all things considered...

To win in March, you have to win games sometimes you probably should have lost.. Long time Gator fans know we don't win many like that, we rarely steal games we should have lost.. Down 14, then down 5 with a minute left after that bank in 3 at the end of shot clock..

Gotta give Golden credit, he called TO, ran that NBA set for corner 3 for the hot hand Richard.. Putting the press on when everything was going wrong is what won the game, then it caused that steal that put Martin at the line to tie it.. Will Richard won the game on the court though, best game he's had. Good teams win in the tournament when everything is going wrong then have that one guy can score like 25 randomly because of how deep you are.

Everyone is acting like shocked that Richard had that game tonight, but in reality I've kind of been wondering why he hasn't done it more often. He's a veteran guy that would have been the main guy if Clayton didn't come back.. and then Martin coming in as well. In a weird way, that was the biggest win of the season, felt like the UNC win.

If you go .500 in this year's SEC on the road and take care of business at home, likely the SEC title and a top 2 seed will live there.

It's really hard to get a feel on this team the last month.. We haven't played well in awhile honestly, even the UT blowout we didn't play well offensively.. That's what is weird about this team, when they shoot well and got it all going they just murder ball people pretty fast.. and when they play bad they still have a chance to win at the end every time anyway. That was the worst game from the bigs this year, they all sucked but even then they still got enough boards. It's frustrating as hell to watch them lately, started the Texas game slow and like they didn't care off of a loss too then slowly put it on.

Clayton plays like he doesn't give a shit too much, he's too passive it's odd because he could score 30 a game if he was more aggressively looking to score on offense. Martin brings it every game and does the dirty work and tries to get others involved. If Aberdeen can keep improving the rest of the year that could be really big for the whole team.

I would almost feel bad for South Carolina if it wasn't for that **** Staley over there running her mouth the entire game..
Thank God for Will Richard, otherwise we'd have suffered not only their players mocking the chomp but seeing their POS low life women's basketball coach more on the screen than the players celebrating. Too bad the SECN had no balls to put the camera on her after they lost.

We played our worst game of the season, but turned it on the last 7 minutes and Will Richard led us to the win. You can't let down in the SEC this year and expect to win. We got lucky, but thrilled to see the resilience.

For some reason the ball just would not drop. The bigs had great positioning and the put backs weren’t falling. Richard and Martin on defense were the difference. And let me say how refreshing to have a coach who can see when something is not working and makes changes. He stated afterward he doesn’t like the full court press but called it anyway.

If Mike White coached last night's Gator team, we'd have been blown out by at least 20. Speaking of White, his team choked a 16 point lead in the first half to give Arky their very first SEC win.

White is a really good recruiter. Candidly the dawgs have better players than we do. Two of their kids are projected 1st round. But his coaching is so boring and predictable that he gets in the way of victory. Hell, we had Nembhard and Mann on the team together and still couldn't win any type of championship.

Florida Gators Glue Guy Thomas Haugh Does the Dirty Work

Thomas Haugh might not be the biggest name on the Florida Gators, but they wouldn't be 17-2 without him. The dirty work, the unglamorous part of the game of basketball. Florida Gators sophomore Thomas Haugh brings his lunch pail to the court every game. While headlines capture the stats and performance of the stars, the glue guys, the unselfish that do anything to help the team, mean a great deal.
(the same can be said of Aberdeen in a slightly different 6th Man role - iG)

When the iG hit on Clayton as being 50/50 inconsistent and acting like he'd lost his girlfriend, I got jumped on and told have great he is. My mind has not changed but only solidified on that opinion. Great talent, but inconsistent output. I'm still hoping that he can get it together as the season moves on....

NOTE: When the iG finds an article that expresses the same thought, ideas, or positions that I have, I don't spend a lot of time writing my own post, I just cut and past some or all of their's, while usually but not always with a link to their's...

You mean the only Gator coach that never had a losing season?
You mean the only Gator coach that went to a post season tourney every year?
You know, the one that never had a tourney one and done like the current coach?
The one with a 4.0 character that never got accused of being a scumbag?
You mean that coach???
🧐

LMFAO
😂at the continued dissing on a solid guy that left here because
this place had turned into a Socialist-U and was leaning towards scumbag-hood.....

I'd still rather have White and Mullen, but being a life long Gator fan, I put up with it,
but not as a silent go-along to get-along punk....
😝

If Billy Donovan inherited what Mike White inherited, oh wait! So you're dismissing everything Norm Sloan, Lon Kruger and Donovan built at UF. As long as you keep propping up Mike White, we'll continue to remind you that White had just one great run during his six seasons in Gainesville.

I can't remember if it was County or Ocala who mentioned this, but White currently has two 1st round NBA picks on his roster, yet still remains a few levels lower than regular season Rick Barnes at Tennessee. Even if White had Kevin Durant on his roster like Barnes did, he'd still piss away his talent.
