Cats shoot 50% from beyond the arc. Hard to win on the road with that kind of shooting.
Sec is deep and loaded. 18 conference games this season, 9-9 in conference play will get you a good seed. Gators schedule is really tough early on, could be 1-3 to start.Yep KY lives and dies by the 3 and we gave them nearly 50% on that. Need to win on our home court bad this next game if we want to get in line for a good seed in the tournament.

Most years I would agree. But the SEC is clearly the best conference, and the league regular season champ most likely 12-6. Lunardi has 11 sec teams in at the moment. We will get a lot of favorable seeds based on the conference incredible out of conference record.I doubt we get a 4 seed or better at .500 in the SEC. We have no big win in out of conference play.
You may be right about the Sweet 16 thing, but we're a long way from NCAA tournament time. However, Walter Clayton is the unquestioned leader of this team whether he turns out to be an NBA player or not. And at 13-1, I'm not ready to concede any game on their schedule. 12 missed free throws and KY's hot shooting from the arc were the biggest factors in today's loss. They're still an excellent team, IMO, even if they lose to the Vols. Of course, time will tell and everybody is entitled to their opinion. If I'm an NBA GM or HC, I'll take a pass on drafting Clayton. He's too inconsistent as an all around player for me to put money into him. He goes 'lackadaisical' with his passing, his dribbling, and with his defense too often for my liking. Looking to the future, I'd be playing the other 4 guards more, even the WO's. Maybe that could spur Clayton in his work/practice habits?
Speaking of inconsistency, If you took the best qualities of the Gators 3 starting guards, on their best days, and distilled them down into one player, you'd have a Caitlin Clark.... 🙄 (CC = 52 College records + 62 WNBA records)
To a previous conversation on another thread, I now doubt that UF makes it to the Sweet-16, and if somehow they did due to getting lucky with their opponent draws, they won't make the E-8. Maybe in another year or two. JMOHO of course....
EDIT: -- Tennis-sea will beat them like a red-headed stepchild, double digits at the least....
For 60 straight seasons we have played UK home and home. Not this year. It would be nice to play the Cats in Gainesville. I do think we will take them on a neutral court. On some days you just have to tip your hat to the other guys. It’s not like we weren’t defending, they were making hellacious shots. Get ‘em next time. Maybe in the SEC tournament.
Actually, the Gators have done better at Rupp than in the O'Dome in recent history, as strange as that might seem....For 60 straight seasons we have played UK home and home. Not this year. It would be nice to play the Cats in Gainesville. I do think we will take them on a neutral court.
The UF UK rivalry is probably the best in the SEC. It’s a travesty to relegate it to a single game each season. For 60 straight seasons we have played UK home and home. Not this year. It would be nice to play the Cats in Gainesville. I do think we will take them on a neutral court.
Clayton scored 33 points and is the unquestionable leader on this team. He's most likely too small for the nba, but who knows. As to the rest of the season, lots of hoops to be played. But a 6 point loss on the road in Rupp is nothing to get upset about. If I'm an NBA GM or HC, I'll take a pass on drafting Clayton. Clayton is certainly not a true point guard. He's primarily a scorer. I love the kid and he plays hard and tirelessly. He & Condon especially hurt us at the free throw line today and I love Condon as well. Reuben had probably his best game of the season, Martin had a weak 1st half and a great 2nd half. Richard was not as much of a factor as I thought he would be. I think all the easy wins left us coming into this game maybe not a sharp and ready to handle a close game for 60 minutes. I have to give Kentucky credit, though. They turned up the defensive intensity and hit a bunch of difficult shots when they needed them. We just need to learn from this and get ready for the Vols because they're better than Kentucky. What you call the Gator's unquestioned leader playing PG had 5 Assists and 5 Turnovers. That's a fail for a PG imo.
A guy with a 92% FT average just went 9 of 13 for 69% at the line. (inconsistent as I said)
He only had 3 RB's with a 2 PF weak defensive effort resulting in ZERO Stl's and no blocked shots.
His 33 points on 6/12 50% were his only saving grace in that game, and that shows he should be a SG, not a PG.
As to his size for the NBA,,, Walter Clayton 6-3 195....
There are currently 11 players in the NBA that are 6’0″ tall or under.
Despite being considered short, some of the best players in NBA history have been 6’0″ tall, including:
Chris Paul, Tim Hardaway, and Allen Iverson. Height will not be his undoing.
As ocala and I have both pointed out many times, everyone is entitled to their own opinions,,, even when they are factually incorrect, or just wrong.... 😉
Well, if someone is an expert on being factually incorrect or just plain wrong, that would be you. He is without question (unless you are stupid) the team leader. He is our team captain, leads the team in points and assists, all while being forced to play the 1 when he is a 2. In the NBA he would be a 2, and as a 2 he would be undersized. The plus/minus when he's on the floor vs not on the floor is a double digit spread which again, is the highest on the team. So, Mr. General Manager Instability, how about we do not bench our factual best player. What you call the Gator's unquestioned leader playing PG had 5 Assists and 5 Turnovers. A road trip to Rupp is always going to be a challenge especially for the gators. You can bet the gators are probably their most hated team behind Louisville and Duke. Brea was unconscious. Shooting 7 of 9 is good from the free throw line. He did it from THE ARC!!
Good win for UK. We have bigger fish to fry as in Tuesday night. File it away and move on.

You are talking this year. And I agree with that considering the Cal situation. But over the last couple of decades it’s us in the conference.Y’all are behind Tennersee, and this year, behind Arky
Tennersee is and always will be our most hated SEC team

Sure…. Tell a Cat fan who we hate the most….You are talking this year. And I agree with that considering the Cal situation. But over the last couple of decades it’s us in the conference.
Point concededSure…. Tell a Cat fan who we hate the most….
If our hatred was based upon what team was the most competitive against us in basketball, then you have an argument….. but more goes into hatred than that. Louisville hasn’t been competitive against us in years in bball….. still hate those effers the most.
10RC has been the subject of UK dislike for decades beyond my lifespan …. I saw and see no reason to stop now
Farm-Out. GooooGators.Women's BB beats Georgia soundly.

Florida tallies its first conference win defeating the Bulldogs 73-57 inside the O'Dome. The Gators are now even in SEC play at 1-1 to conclude week one of 2025.floridagators.com
Further, I would say that Tennessee could be the most hated of all fan bases in the SEC. Ask Auburn, Ole Miss, UF, Bama, Vandy etc.Sure…. Tell a Cat fan who we hate the most….

You just can't help yourself, can you. The average height of NBA 2 guard on 2024 rosters is 6'5.25 You don't need to go to a BS rogue site with some amateur hour blogger, simply go to the nba site directly and it breaks it all down for you. So, now that we've settled that, Clayton is a bit undersized for an NBA 2. If he was a true 1, then no problem at his current height. You are welcome!!NBA Average Height of ALL Players is 78.6 inches, roughly 6-6.5
Average Height of ALL GUARDS is 75.6 inches, roughly 6-3.5.
Average Weight of ALL GUARDS is 198.9 pounds
6-3.5 198.9 is the average for ALL GUARDS (1'S & 2'S in the NBA.
CG Walter Clayton is already 6-3 195 as a college Sr.
So you are as FACTUALLY FoS as I've come to expect from you... 😜
Average Height and Weight of NBA Players (By position 2023)
I've been a collegiate sports performance coach for 20 years. One thing I always felt was effective was showing guys the heights and weights of players at their position in the NBA. It helped givehortonbarbell.com
Nah! Tennessee hates UF more, mainly during the Spurrier era. Even when they won just 4 out of 8 from 1990-2001.Further, I would say that Tennessee could be the most hated of all fan bases in the SEC. Ask Auburn, Ole Miss, UF, Bama, Vandy etc.
In the NBA, Clayton won't have to worry about playing defense. As Shaq stated, viewership is way down because of every team just living to jack up 3's.You just can't help yourself, can you. Agree - I used to love the NBA , but haven't watched in years. Great athletes but it's a boring game to me now.In the NBA, Clayton won't have to worry about playing defense. As Shaq stated, viewership is way down because of every team just living to jack up 3's.
I think you missed my point. If you polled the entire conference Tennessee would be the runaway winner for most hated team/fanbase.Nah! Tennessee hates UF more, mainly during the Spurrier era. Even when they won just 4 out of 8 from 1990-2001.

The claim that Clayton is unlikely to be drafted due to his height is a bogus argument to begin with.
