Yep. You could poll the freveredbrain, LLL, and the dunnygoater and get about the same level of knowledgeable predictive competence....

All of the skill players need to be replaced, but Florida is one of the few teams that recruits strongly enough to overcome that. The’ll have to lean on the running game more, and the D will need to be much better… that ability to outscore everyone may not be there this year.
If Things Go Well: 9-3
The talent still puts them in that top tier, but not with the big boys. Losses to ‘Bama, LSU, and Georgia.
If They Don’t 7-5 ----- Prediction 8-4
There will be growing pains, and a slip up in a game they shouldn’t lose is likely with this little experience.

I actually agree with a lot of their points about us but don't agree with that 8-4 record. I think even with Bama on the schedule we will go 9-3 at least.

Show me a defense with a pulse and I will agree with you. Until then I remain skeptical.
There are only 2 teams on the schedule with more potential talent than us though I guess LSU may have more at the top but they have lost quite a few players so are depleted in non freshman numbers some I think. I am curious to see that talent index number because we moved up a lot in that last season as others lost more players.

In 2020, UGly had 16 5-stars, while UF only had 4 5-stars.
UF 44 - 28 UGly (-16), so the difference seems to be in the coaching....
Todd's beat down scamdemic D gave up less than 30 to the mighty 3x defending SECe-C nuttlickers....
According to 247 Sports, UF's 2021 roster has 4 5-stars, 40 4-stars, and 24 3-stars.
While that is certainly not the best in the nation as far as the recruiting service rankings go, it should be good enough with Dan's staff quality coaching.... Buy in -- Work Smart = Get-er Done...

I would have to see what type of offenses we will be facing. The SEC has went to the pass a lot more so its not as easy to get the single digit defenses anymore.
I do think 3rd and Grantham will pull his usual 3rd down collapse in some key games however.
Off season speculations don't need any 'other offenses' previews to be made.

Lol he was about to go to the NFL just like White was going to a top basketball schooll. He played the game with friends/connections for a raise when he probably should have been canned.
Did you do this with Muschamp and McElwain both. I admit I did for a while with Muschamp but learned my lesson after that.

The iG's preseason prediction for the Gator D in 2021 is a return to Todds 1st 2 Gator seasons in the Top 10 in the nation, even with the tough SoS looking at them. Top 20 for sure....

I've actually predicted on the low end of where we probably should be, because I have no faith in 3rd and Grantham (I may just start calling him 3rd). The new offense is going to be designed to hide a defense; trying to run a lot of plays, eat up the clock, and limit possessions, so we really should be better statistically on defense than last year, even if the defense isn't actually any better. But the way Insta has been touting 3rd, he almost has to claim we will be a top 10 defense or admit he's just arguing for the sake of arguing without actually believing what he's saying.

Not sure we can be worse...I mean it was embarrassing. 1 thing we could count on last year was at least 1-2 busted plays for long TD's every game. Never seen a Gator D that bad.
Quick strike offenses cause problems for their teams' defenses. First, they speed up the game, but for both teams. Second, since they score a lot, opponents need to score to keep up, so they are much more aggressive, which leads to more production. Last year's defense would have been better with this year's offense, just because this year we are going to be more ball control.

I say our defense is going to be lousy this year, and 3rd will be the reason why. Prove me wrong.

Agree with most of that except there was no helping our secondary... constantly out of position and bad communication...LBers couldn't cover very well either. We'll see this year but last year's D points to coaching for me. We'll see what's up in 2 months.
The secondary was certainly lousy, but I attribute that at least in part to our defense trying to substitute while the other team is hiking the ball. Hard for the defense to be on the same page when they don't know the page number.

Insta had Coach Mac in the hall of fame before the complete collapse and made up story of Gator fans out to kill him literally.
As far as Grantham not sure what the stats will be but his history is collapsing in a few big games each year despite the final numbers. Its usually by his aggressive style giving up the first down on 3rd and longs. We actually made fun of him when he did this at Georgia.
