Our class is about 15th now and dropping if they re-ranked it based on people being here for camp so far. Mullen used the lets sign a bunch of 50/50 can they get in recruits to get a higher ranked class.
Even my primitive brain would know you prioritize the football upgrades years ago. You would probably be telling Foley that was a real smart move not getting into an arms race in football and its great we are top 5 all the time in womens soccer and gymnastics - Bama can't say that can they Foley.

Are you re-ranking everybody else’s classes too? And the guys with academic question marks excluding Black and Henderson were some of the lowest rated players in our class. We’d actually have a higher average per player if we never took them. The facts don’t support the angle you’re trying to push.
So you believe that addition by subtraction is the key to recruiting, well that should make your 2019 class top 5 lol.

Jones - .9001 - 4 star
Black - .9356 - 4 star
Hammond - .9104 - 4 star
Still not enrolled and may not make it:
Henderson - .9395 4 star
Wilson - .8917 - 4 star (borderline 3)
Marks - .8817 - 3 star
With the 4 that are already gone, that brings us down to 13 4 stars and 8 3 stars in the class. The average rating for our entire class was .9106. 2 of the guys we've already lost are well above that mark and 1 is right on it, 1 slightly under. If we lose the other 3 that would bring our class down to 11 4 stars and 7 3 stars. Anyway you cut it, that's not good news. Adam Silverstein agrees and says that if the numbers were rerun today we would be #15:

You can’t just ‘rerun’ the numbers in a vacuum without looking at other classes and who they’ve lost, that’s a lazy analysis. For example Auburn and Tennessee were right by us and both have already lost players too. To do a proper re-rank you’d need to take into account losses for every team and that can’t happen until fall when we know who’s in or who’s out.

Yes that is what is claimed anyway. I don't think anyone else near us lost more than 2 players so far.
You're implying we took guys to boost our ratings, but most of the guys who are academic risks had the lowest ratings. If the goal was to boost rating just to make it look good, it makes no sense to take them.
1. Marks: Has no national ranking and was the 56th receiver in the country, not ranked in the state.
2. Hammond: Has no national ranking and is 35th at his position, 64th in the state.
Both of those guys were 5.7 ranked 3-stars, the class average per player would have improved without them factually. So really we took all of TWO high-level players who were academic risks, Black and Henderson. Black barely missed and Henderson hasn't been ruled out yet. The rest who transferred had no issues before coming, so it's not like the coaches took some high level risk that blew up. Unless they're supposed to predict Jones would be accused of assault and Steele would want to go back home.

I didn't rerun anything. I just listed the 247 rankings of the players we've lost and some more we could lose and posted an article by a guy who does this stuff for a living. People can spin it however they want, but it's not good that we've lost the players we've lost and could lose up to 3 more. And the fact that we could go from 25 commits on signing day down to 18 who actually are in class when practice starts can't make any Gator fan happy. The class is simply not as strong as everybody thought it was and there's no denying that. You can't lose 4-7 signees and claim it is. And I highly doubt any other Top 10 class has lost that many.
