Ryan Young of SEC Country has 'A way to early' look at UF's 2017 depth chart.
I think that he's far off base with some of what he wrote on this subject, how-bout-U?

Offense - iG's also 'Way to Early' chart:

QB - Trask or Franks - Allen -- LDR Scout Team & Future Coach
RB - Committie - Thompson - Scarlett - Perine - Davis -- Lemons
WR - A.Callaway - T.Cleveland
F.Swain - J.Hammond
-- and a hafl dozen more that could be starters at some point.
Slot - Powell - Massey
DB/RB M.Burnett or Ath Kadarius Toney (DB-RB-Slot)
TE - D.Goolsby (IF he learns to block) - C.Lewis (IF he develops catching consistency)
M.Stephens - C.Knight
Kemore Gamble - Zechariah Byrd

OL: The mix will not be final until Sept, and even then...
LT Ivey, LG Harkless - C McCoy - RG Riles - RT Taylor
OT Mike, OG Sandifer - C Heggie - OG Buchanan - OT Johnson
OT Telfort - OG D-Jones - C/OG Jordan - OG/OT Moore - OT Forsythe

Scarlett performed better (ypc) when he was part of a committee, not as a featured RB.
If you have an E.Smith, E.Rhett, or F.Taylor with 'also rans' behind him, then go feature RB.
But if you have a loaded RB roster and you want to see the RB depth dissolve and future recruiting fail, then all you need to do is ignore the other RB's while treating them like practice scrubs and tackling dummies. Team or Fail, so choose!
You can have a 1,000+ yard featured back, or a 2,000-3,000 yard committee, so choose wisely.

Defense - iG's also 'Way to Early' chart:
DE - J.Sherit - J.Zuniga
A.Clayton - K.Davis
J.Reed - L.Ancrum
J.Smith - Zachary Carter

DT - C.Jefferson - T.Bryan
NT - K.Clark - K.Campbell
DT - J.Polite - + one of the DE's bulks up or a recruit?

LB - K.Johnson - ILB D.Reese - LB V.Joseph'
J.Moon - RJ.Raymond - R.Jackson
James Houston - Ventrell Miller

CB - C.Gardener - J.Putu
CJ.McWilliams - Chris Williamson
Marco Wilson - Elijah Blades

S - M.Harris - N.Washington
Jeawon Taylor- Q.Lenton

S-Nic-Dime - D.Dawson -- Shawn Davis?

More recruits to be added after NSD.

It will be interesting to see how the roster finalizes and even more so on the 'who and how' as the depth chart settles out by next September. Mc's legacy will largely depend on it in year 3, in my estimation.

I want to see what the staff ends up doing with toney, he has to be on the field somewhere next year... I know that

Duke plays well, but not GREAT imo. His consistency and speed are what I see as his weaknesses. He is one of those that might be getting beat at CB for a starting spot by one of the incoming freshmen. When he's at Nic/Dime there are others out there that can cover for him when/if necessary. I seem to remember him getting beat deep on more than one occasion. If he's good enough to beat out all of those others for the job, then Duke at CB is fine with me of course.

Ath(QB) Kadarius Toney 6-0 195 is possible at DB/RB/WR.
But that's not all. If you remember, Kylan Johnson was an Ath(QB) that came to UF as a SS. In year 2 he's now a starting OLB and playing great under Shannon's tutelage...

At least a few of the incoming class freshmen always manage to beat out some of the upper classmen for a starter spot. That's a given imo. Who/which is what makes the off season fun to talk about.

I just hope that they put the best 11 on each side of the ball on the field.
I'm not at practice, but I do watch every game (multiple times) and from what I've seen so far, I'm not so sure that's always been done.
Practice performance is of course important, but what they do on GAME DAYS is what makes or breaks a season.
