...led his Chipley HS team to the 1A state championship Wednesday in Lakeland. Trent was flat out terrific in the semifinal and final averaging 32.5 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, 2.5 steals and 1.5 turnovers in the two games.
He still does not hold a UF offer but he told me that Florida State, Florida, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Providence have been heavy in the mix with him lately.
Florida State had an assistant coach at his game Tuesday. USF's head coach Orlando Antigua was also at Forrest's game on Tuesday. An asistant from Texas A&M was at his game on Wednesday.
I've known Trent since he was a freshman and Wednesday night for the first time I'm hearing that his parents prefer that he attend college out of state. Trent, nor his parents have told me this so I'm going to follow up with him on this. Unfortunately I was told this after I interviewed him and Chipley boarded their bus to leave the Lakeland Center.
Forrest is a Rivals four-star prospect currently ranked No. 74 in the 2016 class.
