New Story No more of the CJC BS...I do not care who you are.....

Enough of the childish BS...Do not refer to people, groups, members etc as the CJC. I do not care who you are if you write this again you will be looking for a new place to post....I have lost members bc they find this type of talk offensive so no more that is 100% over and done with so move on...........

Football Why chase Ron Roberts out?

The defense has been spectacular since he took over play calling after the first bye week. We’ve been improving at every level. Another year with the same staff and a few transfer portal hits and we’ll have a defense that could lead us into the playoffs next season.

Those of you that want to see us replace him, please help me understand why?

Football It’s a process.

Happy new year good gator fans!

Have received lots of PMs asking me about where we are with certain things. Why is it so quiet? Are we done? Etc.

Just so you know, the new reality of college football is that everything is a process. For the most part, this is ours:

After our bowl, we concentrated on keeping the players we needed to keep. That requires FV getting involved and securing our core players. This is serious heavy lifting. Trust me, many many teams came looking for a lot of our guys. We’ve done a good job of keeping who we wanted to keep. This particular segment is not completely over but getting close. We have done really well.

Just about the same time, we targeted those players of need who were in the portal (and those who had committed elsewhere but indicated a willingness to change schools) and went after them. We went after a select few who we were willing to pay a premium to snag. We were not and could not overpay for everyone. There are still players out there who are playing football that are potential gators when this season ends. Can’t say anything more about that for reasons I hope you all understand. Thanks in large part two to unbelievably generous donors and friends here and other Gator faithful participating in the unparalleled match, we still have money to spend.

Then the process moves to keeping the coaches you want to keep and filling the coaching spots you need to fill. That is where we now.

None of this is a pure linear process. There are timeline overlaps as you have to address urgent needs/concerns/opportunities that pop up. You have to be flexible and jump on opportunities when they present themselves.

In my opinion, Florida needs to hire a GM sooner than later. That will be the biggest hire of the off-season. That person will play a significant role going forward with respect to managing this overall process. There is lots of outside interest in that position both at the college and NFL level.

One of Billy’s weaknesses, from my perspective, is that I believe he moves too slowly at times. A GM will move him along more quickly.

For some of you, this is obvious and a nothing burger. But hopefully it does address a lot of the PMs I’m getting.

Happy new year everyone!

New Story 3 tidbits

I spent some time last night with a head football coach of a high profile SEC team. Was fascinating. He is not Napier.

He thinks that UF winning 8 games this year with that schedule was insane. He believes there are 7 schools in the SEC that can survive and thrive in today’s NIL and transfer postal world. UF is one of them.

He thinks that we need to raise $14m in NIL money on top of revenue sharing to make the playoffs. He says that recruiting against Napier is tough because BN is an elite relationship builder. He says players where money is not the most important factor result in him losing the player to UF,

In his opinion, there will be 12 schools each year that compete for Championships and everyone else is a screwed. He hates this about college football. He thinks the average college fan will get bored eventually,

Re: Men’s Bball. Todd is not going anywhere. He has ZERO interest in the UM job despite my perceived lack of support from the university in the title 9 matter. I still expect the Title 9 matter to end in Todd’s favor shortly.

I also spoke with Larranaga recently. He can’t live with the current NIL and transfer portal environment. Says he is too old to change. The lack of loyalty kills him. I really respect him.

New Story This, That, & More on a Thursday (12/26)

This, That, & More on a Thursday (12/26)

I hope everyone had a wonderful time with family and friends the last few days! The staff has been off for a few days, which is excellent. Everyone needs time off around the holidays to spend time with family and friends and reset!

*NOTE*
Starting tomorrow, if I don't respond immediately, do not worry; it will take me some time. I am scheduled for complete rotator cuff surgery at 7 am on Friday. Hopefully, things go great with the surgery, but it will slow production down for the first 5-7 days until I figure out exactly how to work with one arm.

I wanted to have a Q&A today with any questions, comments, or concerns you might have. Now is the time. Anything you want to discuss (other than politics/religion) is on the table.

What are you most excited about when you think about the 2025 Gators? What is the thing you are most concerned about with the 2025 Gators?

Did anything surprise you so far with the Bowl Games?

Best present you have ever given OR received, now is the time, let's hear it!

What was the best New Christmas movie you watched this year? I will leave this here to see what kind of feedback I get: Red One with Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson.

Coming in 2025 to NetFlix is Happy Gillmore 2. Where on earth can this movie even go???

Football Jack Sawyer

The big Buckeye Edge, all 6-4 260 lbs. of him, clobbered Quinn Ewers, knocked the ball loose, snagged it and ran hard 83-yards to secure Ohio State’s 28-14 win.

Sawyer looks a lot like former Gator Jack Pyburn. Sawyer is not only a better player than Pyburn, but his all-out love for the Buckeyes and Ohio State just poured out. He represents what we believed about our Jack. Still breaks my heart that he bolted for LSU.

In this era in which too often loyalty is being bought out by big money demands and greed, Jack Sawyer was refreshing. The kind of competitor that reminds us why we love college football.

Hopefully Myles Graham, LJ McCray, and several other young Gators are the kind of Gators who stay the course.
