Okay, has anyone been paying attention to the Gator's new true freshman 2nd baseman?
#8 Deacon Liput 5-10 190 - Oviedo, FL - He just might become UF's version of Ted Williams!

GP 6, GS 6, AB 19, R-3, H-9, 2B-3, 3B-2, RBI-12, BB-5, SO-1
Ave .474, SLG% .842, OB% .583 -- fielding errors = 0
And he has started off his UF baseball career with a Six game hitting streak.

But no pressure lad, just keep on doing your best, which has been OUTSTANDING so far.

The #1 Ranked Gators are 6-0 on the season and just took a 5-0 Friday night Shutout win @ #6 Miami to start off their 3 game series. The have outscored their combined opponents 49-20 so far.
-----------------

On the Gator Softball front: They lost P Hanna Rogers to graduation, then they lost P Lauren Haeger to graduation, but they still have Gourley, Ocasio, and a brand new true freshman pitcher, Kelly Barnhill. Barnhill just threw her 3rd 1 hitter of the new season, and 2 of those were against Top 10 teams, (#2 Mich & #8 Neb). Both were 8-0 run-rule 5 inning, 1 hit shutouts for the Gators. Backing up their outstanding team pitching has been the more than solid Gator bats and gloves. Janell Wheaton might be the new 'Power-Hitter' as she hit 2 HR's in their game against Washington. Wheaton just became the 1st Gator since Bailey Castro to hit two HR's in the same game. She joins slug-masters Taylore Fuller (30 HR's) and Kelsey Stewart (28 triples) with the big bats on their very solid hitting team.

The 15-0 #1 Ranked Gators have now outscored their opponents 108 - 8
05

Their fielding % is .986 with 7 double plays, and their pitching ERA is 0.56
2B Taylor Schwarz Sr now holds the UF Career Record for Double-Plays with 61.
C JJ Schwarz Soph
now leads the Gator baseball team with 2 HR's, and he already has 20 career HR's.
That's a sweet sister-brother combo for the Gators.... chomp

I'm looking forward to one day seeing their little brother in a Gator uniform.

And while there has been a list of game MVP's in both baseball and softball this season, it's the 'TEAM' efforts that has carried them to their wins and rankings, and it's the 'TEAM' that will get them both where they want to go in the end.

This year, I'm hoping that the boys and the girls can both win their CWS. It would also be a WCWS 3-Peat for our National Champion girls team. Unlike some other schools in the news, Gators celebrate our Lady Gators success and give them the R-E-S-P-E-C-T that they so richly deserve! You-Go-Girls!

Say it's GREAT, To Be, a FLO-RI-DA Gator!

#1 Softball is 16-0 with their sweep of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, Ca.
#10 UCLA, NCSt, #9 Wash, Neb, & Utah, the last 2 were by shutouts, (19 to 4 combined)
They have out-scored their opponents so far, 109 to 8, for a plus 101.
They have only played 2 of their 16 games at home, a mid-week double-header vs JU.
Ten of their 16 wins have been by Shutouts!
05

PS

And let's not forget about our Ladies Lacrosse team.
They began the season (2015 Big East Champs) ranked at #8, but moved up with their unexpected victory over #2 NC. Then they knocked off #2 Syracuse.
Now #3 UF Lacrosse is 4-0 with their latest 16-6 win over Dartmouth.

Well, personally I enjoy all Gator sports and seasons! Spring is usually when the Gators kick some tail far as the Directors cup and Capital one. Football is ahead of schedule and Basketball will get going next year.

FSU fans only brag about multiple sports when they can. Gator fans brag about multiple sport because they can.
And FSU lost to Jacksonville in baseball yesterday after losing to College of Charleston the other day. Going to be a long baseball season for them Nolies who don't seem to have recovered from the record beat down the State's premier baseball program put on them in the Super Regionals last year.

Guys, nail 1988 is a Choke-la-homa, doomer-swooner fan, not a criminole. He followed me from VolsChat, where he is a card carrying member of the Mad-Dog-Dollie - circle of jerks.

#25 Texas 76 - 63 CHOKE-la-homa #3 (-13) -- Highly OVER-RATED yet again.... :p --- :D

On #2 WR Tyrie Cleveland 6-3 194 4.36/40 Fr **** recruiting, Slob Swoops told Tyrie on his recruiting visit that coming to choke-la-homa was a 'NO-BRAINER.'
So, having a working brain instead of NO-BRAIN,

Look at this lame-choker attempting to steal Walton's Gator success.
That's both pit-ti-ful (on him) and funny as heck (to me)! :(--:D

But the reality is:

Tim Walton's home town is Cerritos, Calif, so he's not from choke-la-homa.
He went to Cerritos JuCo, then he was with the chokers in 1994-95.
He was a 25th round, minor league pitcher for the Phillies 1995-97.
He was a choker assistant coach for a short time (1999-02) before moving on & up.
His first head coaching job was at Wichita State from 2003-05, (not as a choker).
His last season with Wichita State before becoming a Gator, he took them to an NCAA Regional.

Walton has been the Gator coach since 2006, (2006-16)....
During that time frame he has also been:
2010-11 - USSSA Florida Pride (NPF), Head Coach.
2015 U.S. Junior Womens National Team Head Coach.

The Gator's Softball Head Coach just got his 700th Career Win (6-3) @ #3 Auburn.
(unlike the Big12 pretenders, the SEC currently has 4 of the Top 6 ranked teams)
>>> 1. UF - 3. AU - 4. UA - 6. LSU

What has Walton, with his Gator Teams accomplished in his first 10 season?
~ As the Gator's Head Coach he is 552-121 (.820)
~
Florida has (7) seven 50-win & (3) three 60-win seasons with Walton.
~ Florida has 10 consecutive NCAA Tournament Selections
~ 8 NCAA Super Regional Bids
~ 7 WCWS Appearances
~ Four (4) time SEC Coach of the Year
~ 4 SEC Championships
~ 3 SEC Tournament Titles
* Back-2-Back (2) WCWS Championships (2014 & 2015)

^ The Walton/Gators are currently Ranked #1 at 25-0 for 2016

In the 34-year history of the WCWS, only 12 different teams have claimed the WCWS title. Florida is one of only 3 schools that have won multiple titles, joining UCLA and Arizona. (notice that choke-la-homa is NOT one of the 3 mulit-title schools)

That's due to the kind of 'All Sports' support that coaches get at Florida. o_O

Including the now #2 Ranked Lacross team. :p
They moved up after winning @ then #2 NC, and then @ new #2 Syr.
They just knocked off #14 BC (13-5) to improve to 8-0. BC was UF's 5th Top 20 opponent this season out of their 8 opponents.

Up next is #18 Towson and then they get to greet last years NC, #1 Maryland.
That's 7 Top 20 opponents out of 10 games, including #2 NC, #2 Syr, & #1 Maryland.
============

However, Bob Stoops was the Gator's mNC DC before dropping down to become the chokers head phootball coach. Since then ole slob-swoops has become the biggest BCS-Bowl game choker in BCS history.... :D
He's even lost to BS-U in the Fiasco Bowl....

PS

Gator's are currently ranked
#1 25-0 Softball
and
#1 17-1 Baseball

And as I've said many times before,,,, what OFF-season?

Just the most recent (this century) Gator NC's:

Men's:

Basketball -- 2006 - 2007 ~ Back-2-Back

* UF is the only school to ever hold both in the same (2006) year.

Football -- 2006 - 2008

Indoor Track & Field -- 2010 - 2011 - 2012 ~ 3 PEAT

Outdoor Track & Field -- 2012 - 2013 ~ Back-2-Back

Baseball - Currently Ranked #1 at 18-1

Women's:
Tennis -- 2003 - 2011 - 2012 ~ Back-2-Back

Swimming & Diving -- 2010

Gymnastics -- 2013 - 2014 - 2015 ~ With a good chance for a 2016 4 PEAT!

Softball -- 2014 - 2015 ~ Back-2-Back ~ Currently Ranked #1 at 28-1

Lacrosse - Currently ranked at #2

Bonus -- Soccer 1998 - Only SEC team to ever win a NC in soccer...

PS

SEC Championships: To many to list, but the most total 'team' championships in SEC History since the 1933 beginning of team competitions.
According to Wiki, UF has 224. ~~ Tennis-sea is #2 with 154,,,, (70 less).
