Newman was never benched. He was injured vs. Louisville and Sam Hartman started vs. FSU. Newman was also injured vs. Syracuse with Hartman stepping in to replace.

An unbiased opinion from a UGA fan: Taking players like Brandon Cox and Zack Evans is not a good idea. Best of luck though.

Cox seems like he’s fitting in fine. I have no clue what’s up with evans. It’s the weirdest recruitment I’ve ever seen. I’d love to know what exactly went on... why he wanted out of his LOI, why we backed off but now are back in it... the kid is obviously talented, but I can’t believe it’s all about a handler wanting some bags. If that was all it was about someone would have stepped up and sealed the deal by now. There’s a reason he’s still out there, and I doubt we get a clear answer until the dust settles. I think you have to take him, though. He’s good enough to move the needle on any team’s running game. But I honestly don’t expect him to make it through camp regardless where he ends up. Just too many red flags.
When the expectations are much higher then the likelihood of not achieving them is greater. I'm sure you understand that.
