woohoo looky what I got

In other news my FFL dealer is out of town so now I have to wait for two whole weeks to get my damn gun!

Danny, run, don't walk to your nearest gun dealer and buy a Ruger, they are friggin sweet.

Every time I think about getting one, I'm reminded that it's a liger knock off...but I remind them that this one is actually accurate.

The Ruger Marks may look like Lugers, that is because that is partly what inspired Bill Ruger, but there really is not much that functions the same, and the really are not a "knockoff."

For those unfamiliar, the worse part about these models is the takedown and assembly which can be difficult even with experience. I highly recommend the Majestic Arms Speed Strip Upgrade which allows you with an allen wrench take down the pistol for cleaning, which is much easier than the standard method.

What I REALLY want is a Ruger Mark with a Pac Lite lightweight upper and a suppressor:

I have a buddy who is quite the reloader...I give him money every now and then for components, and he loads what I need. We take small samples to range and test it, and if it shoots good, he makes more! He finds deals on brass and the rest of the stuff he already buys in bulk, so I'd say pay about half of what it costs in the store...when you can find it!

My dad gave me a ruger bull barrell .22 when I was a kid. Still love that gun. HK & FN were his choices for battle rifles and subs as well- he had a G-3, an FNC and an MP-5- which have now passed to me. Talk about a way to burn up some cash....

You are a lucky man...and I'm not just talking about the firearms, but to have that relationship with your dad, and to have those memories and heirlooms.
