Who knew slavery had made it to San Francisco, as the board studies remedies.

I think technically, California never approved nor endorsed slavery. It is very possible that slaveholders moved into CA.
They didn't keep great track of such things back then and certainly there would have been rampant duplicity by any slaveholders moving in. That said, the official stance of the state of CA was as stated above ...

California was a free state that did not endorse slavery or indentured servitude but would return fugitive slaves per federal law. Never mind the slaves brought by the gold miners and the Chinese prostitutes and never mind the railroad workers that were imported by the thousands, worked to death and replaced.

For SF, it is (mostly) African-Americans voting for their self interests

For CA, if it was suggested, it’s Newsome using taxpayer dollars to buy favor and gain national prominence
He's an idiot. The national articles have started a backlash across the country. He's getting clobbered in the comments, and mostly out of state. California can't afford that boondoggle to begin with. He's possibly more evil than Trudeau and Biden combined, if that's even possible. Family knows best!

The federal government of the United States could not afford to write the check that San Francisco is considering. 😂

There are now SF residents who are claiming the $5mm each isn't enough. They're recommending $7.6mm each. 😂

Also 40 acres, a free tractor, free name changes to African names, free language classes to learn African languages, University price controls and property price controls for African Americans.

There are approximately 44,930 African Americans living in San Francisco. If we just consider $7.6mm each...

7,600,000
x. 44,930
---------------
341,468,000,000

That's 341.468 BILLION dollars.

40 acres and a 3 eyed mule in Chernobyl. 😂

Even if they had the money and successfully disbursed it.

San Francisco has draconian gun control.

And is separated from Oakland by a bridge.

They might get 7.6 million dollars but they better spend it with a quickness.

Yes, that was racist and no, I don't care.

How about $5 million to every eligible black adult or
How about the elimation of personal debt and tax burdens or
How about guaranteed annual income of at least $97,000 for 250 years or
How about homes in San Francisco for just $1 per family

I wonder if anyone can just IDENTIFY as black in this new age of personal identification.

Here's the kicker, we all serve a master. Some serve God while many serve mammon.

We lived in SoCal in the early 80’s and we knew it would most likely be no more than two years before we were transferred back east, so we tried to see as much of the state as possible. It was another world for two young Florida people.
It’s so varied and so interesting and we found a very different mindset out there that was statewide.
That’s not saying it’s bad - it was just different. It’s as if they have their own separate bubble and that’s how they like it. At the time the fact that they were doing business up to three hours behind the rest of the country meant my husband was out the door by 5:45 AM.
Again, that’s fine. Californians worked hard but they also really enjoyed their time off. They did have respect for “doing your own thing” but there was also a bit of a difference between NoCal and SoCal (like we are here with SoFla/NoFla).
San Fran was so uniquely beautiful that it is very sad to hear these things are happening - on any scale.
I can’t understand why the folks out there tolerate the situation. It may be that they think it’s that way everywhere in the US?

My cousins live in Laguna Beach, I used to surf there years ago. You're right they are in a bubble out there oblivious to the rest of the country.

I was stationed in California twice, once at Camp Del Mar in Oceanside and once at Marine Air ground combat Center in 29 Palms and they can keep their shitty state.

I visited No Cal in 1985 I think? Beautiful landscape but strange strange strange. We ate lunch one day in the San Fran business district. The white collared business class was getting ish faced at high noon on a Tuesday. No idea if they were headed back to the office later or not. Today's CA is not our granny's CA. They elected two actors to be Governor, one in that era. But there's no way a Reagan could be elected in that loony bin now.

Why aren't they demanding the African countries pay reparations for selling slaves to the Europeans? I wonder if these people in San Francisco know Africans were captured and sold to Europeans by other Africans?

Maybe they just refuse to admit it. That certainly couldn't be the issue could it?

A dumbass Gator fan visiting San Francisco at the 5:48 mark.

These are the results of defunding the police and erasing the thin blue line between criminals and law abiding citizens.

You get the government that you deserve.

This times 1000

Emmanuel Acho - great guy, super sharp. Parents came from Nigeria. Likelihood that his distant relatives were involved in the slave trade? Pretty high.
