I just saw a mock draft with Trask going 18th in the first round. After today’s performance, I think he may be moving up.

Actually, I doubt it. He's not mobile enough. I think he will be more 2-3 round. Lot of really good QB's coming out this year, he might fall down the list due to supply and demand.

Of course, since the NCAA gave everybody an extra year, he can come back and work on it some more. :D

It would be really amazing if Kyle Trask returns for another year at Florida!
Who knows, playing college football and playing for championships might be the most fun!

I’m not sure who’s coming out next year, but he might be able to improve his draft stock if there aren’t as many coming out. If he could go in the first round, I’d come out if I were him. If it’s 3rd or lower maybe come back.

This guy thinks first round.

If Trask stays then I think Emory Jones leaves. He's too good to keep standing on the sidelines and also having Anthony Richardson waiting in the wings also.

QB's are weird. Half of them fly up the draft board, the rest plummet.

Trask is thick (which is good), and tall (which is good) but not very mobile (which is bad). I've heard some things about his arm strength not being great as well. Is that true? I don't see him throwing deep much, but that's not really our offense.

Agree though, if he projects first round, he should go. Third round, he should stay if there is a chance he can improve his draft stock by staying.

Selfishly, of course, I want him to stay. We pull Bammer in the rotation in 2021, his return would make that a much more winnable game.

I agree. But I don't think that would hurt us. Richardson would then be in his third year, and we have Del Rio coming in, so the QB position in 2022 would be a little thin, but ok. And with Dan, you never know when a transfer is coming.

So personally, I think he'd be a great late 1st round pick for the Steelers. A lot of similarities between the him and Ben. And the time is right.

Ben only has a year, maybe 2 left in him. And if he wins the Super Bowl this year, I think he'd retire.

Then again, I'm a Steelers fan and have loved Big Ben from the start.

Not to mention that would be a solid organization for Trask to go to.

Hes a 1st or 2nd rounder. Not sure how strong this QB class is but Lawrence and ohio st pin head are first 2 off the board. Not sure who is better than trask after that

One can debate Mac Jones(not me) and the draft pundits are talking up Trey Lance (ND ST) and the kid from Iowa State.

Mac Jones will probably go before Trask but by that point it doesn’t matter. You really just want your guy going to the right organization.

LG89,

Problem with that is I read/heard somewhere that NCAA did not adjust the 85 scholarship limit.

Not that I have heard either, but they will have to address it. It isn't just football, it's soccer and volleyball and other sports as well.

With the way both the Steelers and the Saints are playing, I still think that either one would pick him up late in the first round.

Brees is done, everyone in my neck of the bayou knows it, and Ben might have a year or two left in him if he doesn't win it all this year.

The Saints aren't going to trust Jamies and Taysom Hill is a gadget. The Steelers don't seem to have much faith in Mason Rudolph.

It would be a huge get for either team and a great scenario for Trask.

My barber is a huge Steelers fan. We were discussing if Roth would be welcoming to a rookie QB to help bring him along for a year or two as he rides off into the sunset. In theory it sounds ideal but Ben might be a huge douche and not up to or for it.

Pittsburgh is the perfect landing spot for Trask. He would fit in that offense like a hand in a glove. But to the possibility that Roth would be a huge douche, well, hasn't he always been one? So I would say more of a probability.

However, even he understands a team needs a backup QB. If he was certain he was the QB as long as he wanted to be, he wouldn't have a problem with a rookie backup.

Weird....Ben had some issues 10-15 years ago but he's been and upstanding dude since and he knows the end is near.

I mean, they drafted Rudolph in the second a round a few years ago and I haven't heard about their being any issues.

But maybe it's just because I've been a Steelers fan for a very long time and I'm looking at it differently.
