Sumlin doesn't know how to deal with QBs. He hosed their QB situation this past season. He's on the hot seat. His offense doesn't ever possess a legit running game from the RB position and usually his defenses aren't very good.
Most HUNH teams have less than good defenses. So stating that is redundant. His problem is that his team is great game one and shit after game 6, and usually the reason is his offense regresses and his defense wears down.
Kyler Murray seems like a diva. Reading some stuff around apparently Kyler and his dad threatened to transfer midseason if he wasn't named the starter. Sumlin gave in because Murray is a legacy. And the players were behind Kyle Allen so when he was benched for no reason at all really it caused a team revolt or something. Then Murray played so bad they had to go back to Kyle Allen and then he played bad and they went back to Murray. And apparently Murry got physical with their OC. So now both QB's are gonna leave it looks like.
Sumlin sounds like he is toast pretty soon or he's certainly on the hot seat. He just had a QB decommit as well.
There are some rumors that Sumlin has a drinking problem and that he takes too much of a hands off approach to the program.
I hope there are not issues with Sumlin. He seems like a good guy and I have always thought he is a good coach. The sec west is not very forgiving.
Of course there are issues with Sumlin. Texas has been really bad for 4-5 years and A&M has thrown a crap load of money into their program. They should be taking full advantage of the collapse of Texas. Instead the best programs in Texas are Baylor and TCU. A&M boosters aren't happy in the least bit.
