Massive troll IMO.
There are some suspect things about Joe's appearance but to me it's cosmetic surgery and rapid decline/aging from trying to do a job he was incapable of when he was young and healthy.

No need for such a thing. I don't really have any friends or relatives who are frightened enough to bring a gun with them. I have an ex-BIL who was a bumpkin from Georgia who would have probably done something like that but I haven't seen him in like 20 years. Maybe if I lived in a redneck or ghetto area that would be more of an issue.
It's not about 'need', in fact there not being a 'need' proves you have no logical reason to NOT post the sign.
You don't post it cause you are scared that armed criminals will see that sign and target your home.

I suspect he doesn't want a gun because he's afraid he would either fumble it and shoot his foot off, or an intruder would overpower him and take the gun and use it against him.
