I understand the severity of the Coronavirus but think of all the work they did the first few years of college...high school...youth years.

Some are late bloomers or were stuck behind talented starters and just now get the chance to showcase their skills to scouts and professional teams. Even those that won't get to play their respective sports professionally finally had the chance to live their dream of getting quality playing time in college. I hate it for them. Baseball and T&F honestly just got started. Now it's over for them. I hope the NCAA Grant's them another year. Also consider the seniors that were recovering from an injury and were slated to return soon from their said injuries.

I think you have to give these kids a redshirt. It's certainly not their fault for any of this. I guess the challenge is it could impact scholarship limits as you have incoming freshman and you were counting on a spot being open for an outgoing senior.

Can probably add the fall sports to that. What have the Gators said about spring practice?
I seriously doubt this will be to this level by the time August rolls around. I'm thinking at latest by May it will be a near afterthought and folks will be back to licking convenience store door handles and walking out of the rest area forgetting to wash their hands.

So this is going from 'worldwide health crisis' to nothing in 8 weeks?

I agree with you.

Yep the mostly spring sports but I wonder how that would affect signing the new players unless they give one year waivers where those players don't count against a cap. They should have just let them play with no big crowds there.

Nah, China is on the backend of this. Number of cases there are declining, so we are probably 6-8 weeks from getting this past us.

Some experts think this will act like a cold as far as seasonality looking at things with it in China and by May the hotter weather and humidity will put a big dent in it. In FL you would think April would even help out.

If they gave them another year of eligibility, they would have to increase the scholarship limit. Otherwise, there won't be any available schollys for the incoming freshmen.

True. Some would chose to go pro. Some would chose to hang up the cleats and put their diploma. However a large majority would chose to play once more.

A one year scholarship increase would be nice.

They should give another year of eligibility AND increase schollie limit 1 year temporarily for those that choose to return

......but the chicken-shite diseased azz-bag named Mark Emmert is gonna phuck this up like adding Limburger cheese to pancakes

Simpler than that.

Anybody who gets the extra year doesn't count against scholly limits.
