UA and UG spend 3+ Million on recruiting, UF only spends 1+ Million.
So fire Dan for his lack of quality recruiting, even while he currently has the 7th best roster in the nation due to his excellent use of the xfer portal.
Of course the UF President, the UAA, and the AD play absolutely no role in the recruiting to BLM Socialist-U....
Mary Wise should retire, get out while the getting is good.
While White, Sullivan, Walton, and Holloway should consider putting their names in the coaching portal, before Socialist-U catches up with their careers....

Dan was a weak recruiter for sure but, if we want to keep up with Bama and Georgia, we're going to have to spend the money.
You really do. AD Mal Moore gets credit for Bama hiring Saban, but really then President Robert Witt deserves a big part of the credit. He pushed for giving Saban a huge contract cause he knew Saban was worth it, but more importantly because he understood the PR value from that hire. Witt has a strong business background, and always saw the money spent on Saban and Bama's facilities as an investment, not an expense.
Because that's what it is. I hate to say it, but if the Florida coaching search goes anything like what the posters on the blue board are saying, it's gonna be a train wreck. Scared money don't make no money. The names floated on that board are 'these are the guys we can get' vs 'these are the names we want'.
You go after the guy you want, and you pay whatever it takes to get him. You throw whatever money it takes into the program to built it where he wants it.
And when you start winning titles and the money starts flowing back in, you tell all the people that mocked the high salary to STFU.
Hiring elite coaches works every single time. Hiring 'up n comers' works half the time at best.

That speaks to the importance of stocking its cash-cow program with the best talent. Go back a decade, and Alabama’s recruiting budget soared 194.6 percent. The 2009 expense when adjusted for inflation was only $893,805.

The budget line on the form for each school pulls together itemized expenses to include transportation, lodging and meals for recruits on official and unofficial visits. Also included: phone call charges, postage for mailers and the cost of transportation for coaches traveling to visit recruits.

I would say Saban would be interested in hiring him as an analyst and elevating him to OC eventually, but Saban usually doesn't hire coordinators unless they are amazing recruiters.
Mullen is garbage as a recruiter. Even Insta knows that.

And in Dan's 9 years there, he took them to a bowl game 8 times with a 6-2 Bowl record.

I will admit I was upset when FU hired him because UT was looking at him and I knew what he did at State with lesser talent. UT traditionally recruits well and at the time of the hire had the top recruiting budget.

I think Dan was expected to dominate recruiting in Florida but it takes time to establish yourself. I lived there from the mid-80s-2001. There are so many options for athletes that are not academic qualifiers to play at UCF, FAMU, FIU, FAU, USF instead of going JUCO and then enrolling at UF, Miami, or FSU. Then you have schools like WV and other city universities that also grab their share of Florida athletes it doesn't leave a high % of highly rated athletes in the state these days. The coaching staff must be able to go out of state to get elite players that meet the clearinghouse standards.
