We have the #2 rushing offense in the NATION

allowed 10 pts in the final 45 minutes.
That's true, and however much I wish we had only allowed 7, that's not what happened.

But it really didn't hurt us. There is no achievement we cannot reach because we lost to Bama. If we win out we are SEC East champs, SEC champs, and going to the playoffs. We would be in the same place if we beat Bama last week.

The one achievement we lost out on a chance at is an undefeated season. No big deal.

Do I need to tag @instaGATOR to pull up some stats?

Our lowest ypc was 4.5 out of 4 different ball carriers. Our highest was 9.5 ypc. Our second best was 7.8.

I must have watched a different game.
He posted that at 8, you have to admit we were struggling a bit early.

The character of this team is starting to show itself, I am really seeing this as a team that gets stronger as the game goes on. It's not that we necessarily start slow, but as our Oline wears down the defense we assert our dominance more and more. I'm starting to feel like there isn't anybody we can't wear down in the 2nd half, we just need to not fall too far behind at the beginning like we did against Bama.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Our offense is not a fun offense to go against as it beats on the other teams defense and starts too impose its will as the game wears on. There is nothing Dan can’t do on offense. He’s a genius in that regard. Need to get better starts.

We are a 2nd half team for sure at this point. Kudo's to Jones for a stellar performance and first game without a pick. I will admit in the stadium it was a bit tense at halftime with a mere 3 point lead, the difference between the two teams being we made our FG attempt and they missed theirs. Rushing wasn't all that great in the 1st half, no real big chunk plays we are becoming accustomed to. 2nd half was a completely different story and we flat out shut the door in the vollie's faces.

I will add this that UT might actually be disruptive in the SEC if they can get any kind of talent on the offensive side of the ball with that ridiculous hurry up spread offense they are putting out now. Dare I say the inbreeders might have finally made a coaching hire that wasn't a straight up boneheaded mistake?

That said, if we play like we did tonight, I don't think we beat the illiterate morons from Athens. They are going to be trying to get out to a fast start nice and early like Bammer did. I am unsure who has the better defense at this point in time, Bamy or ButtUGLY, but it will make it difficult to wear them down if we get down by too many early on.

That said, I'd rather have no other coach in The SEC right now to go up against Jawja and the WORST coach in The SEC, even with the great talent advantage that they have. Take care of business this coming week in 'tucky and keep focusing on making the brainless buttsniffers priority #1.

I'll agree it will take a better effort against UGaly, but we really did have a bit of a Bama hangover, and it's pretty obvious that having lost 15 of 16 is more motivating than having won 15 of 16, so UT came out fired up. Still, we play a pressure defense, and that is going to end up with some big plays against you. I really feel like somebody is helping Grantham with the calls, a lot fewer of those damn delayed blitzes and the D seemed to be on the right page most of the time, which is hard to do against a speed offense.

You Rang TG???
😁
(and you tell-um)

I haven't bothered to be on line Saturday, doing other stuff of some minor importance, unlike being on here...
😉

I have said to trust Dan, he sees then every day. Jones is the current starter for a reason.
That said, I have been on Richardson's side since before he committed to Dan.
I admit that I'd like to see him play a series or three every game, but a hammy can take time.
Better to be safe for a couple of games, instead of sorry for a season....
Note to Dan/Hevesy -- Thank-you for finally replacing the RT... A good guy, but a 50/50 player imo.
---
I like playing the roster whenever possible for many reasons. I've had that opinion for many years now.
The 3 Roster RB's, and then the 5-star xfers later as needed, as I said back during 'talking season.'
WR Whittemore is a local favorite of mine and a very solid player.
I've liked getting Hog-town area guys since the 4 Jacksons, Doering, and Cornelius Ingram days.
(or Wilbekin and Mann for that matter)

Rushng - 15 for 144 Yds, 9.6 YPC, L-49

Committee Rushing - 40 for 283 Yds, 7.1 YPC, 2 TD's

Backups and for future team rushing - Richardson - Bowman - Lingard, sweet....
😁

1st Half UF 17-14 TN ----- Final UF 38-14 TN (-24)
I seem to remember another time when the UF vs TN game was close at the half.

My friend was nervous due to the close game. I told him while we were out on the South endzone ramp at the half break that we had them right where we wanted them and he could relax.
That game ended up UF 62 - 37 TN (-25).

It's the rubber dollies of ole Sloppy Drop Tennis-sea, so no worries mates....
🤗

(btw, did that make Spurrier's team a 2nd half team too?)
🤔
