We have the #2 rushing offense in the NATION

Tenn. is also giving up 54.3 yards rpg so I'll take that with a grain off salt

Oct 30 will be fun! Dawgs giving up 70 yards rpg and 7 ppg.
Yu might want to notice that it's actually over 100 yards per game, but they take sacks out of the equation. Also, were you defending against the #2 rushing attack in the nation? Not saying we run all over you, but also not assuming we can't.

Who was the poster who said we might average close to 300 yards a game on the ground. He may be correct.

Yes, Liz I know how it works. The fact that Fla rushed for 245 yards on Bama was impressive but holding the Tide to 61 yards rushing and 10 points after that 1st qter domination really makes one take notice. If Dan can find a passing game you might have something here.

I’m hoping and think the passing game will slowly improve. My main concern is still UFs defense. I typically don’t worry about a Dan Mullen coached offense too often.

I thought we was refencing "numbers" Bama had a D-Line full of Blue Chips 🤷‍♂️ My point was Tenn rpg allowed is better than UGAay's
Duly noted. Tenn also played two cupcakes and Pittsburg in 3 games. None of these teams were ever going to rush the ball with much success. My point about Davis is when he's in the game opposing teams don't seem to run the ball as well as when he isn't.

The passing game will improve as soon as teams stop gameplanning using last year's film and put 8 in the box.

UF needs to change things up in special team play, we don`t even try to return the ball.
On kickoffs, returns are usually an act of futility. Kickers can kick it HIGH and deep these days, and returns always invite really stupid blocks in the back. It's not just us, it is across the entire landscape and the NFL. Punt returns are a different matter, but kickers anymore are kicking it higher and sacrificing distance. I'm happy either way just not dropping it or getting a penalty.

Also, who catches a ball in the end zone and bats it out of bounds at the one yard line?

Kickoff returns have basically become just a waste in college and NFL.

So what's the deal with Milton? He looked great against ND, does he suck now? I haven't watched the last 2 games.
Did he look great? He was 5-7 for 48 yards and a 123 QB rating. That isn’t great. I think it was just because he looked much better than the other guy.

My only guess is Notre Dame never prepped for Milton. Jax State and Wake Forest watched enough of his FSU's game vs Notre Dame to expose him. No way I would have taken a chance on Milton if I were Coach Cornrows. His chances of another injury is certain with that O line

Our team sucks which makes him look way worse than he is. He has no time to throw, then the receivers drop it when he hits them, then he made mistakes as well. He's not been playing great right now either. It's been everyone

Last year, when Trask was putting up #1 in the Nation Passing Yds/Gm numbers, clueless twits claimed that UF couldn't run the ball. However, passing was a positive choice, not a deficient requirement.
2020 Team Passing - 67.9% for 4,283 Yds, 43 TD's, 8 Ints, 356.9 Yds/Gm.

2020 Rushing:
Jones -- 6.8 YPC, 2 TD's, L-22
Pierce - 4.7 YPC, 4 TD's, L-38
Davis - 4.7 YPC, 0 TD's, L-39
Wright - 3.9 YPC, 2 TD's, L-26
-----
Toney -------- 8.5 YPC, 1 TD, L-50
Richardson - 8.7 YPC, 0 TD's, L-28
-----
Trask 3 rushing TD's, L-26
~ Team - 1,575 net yds, 4.3 YPC, 12 TD's, L-50

There is a difference between CHOOSING to pass, and not being efficient when running the ball.
==========

This year, with the running game being Top 1-2 in the nation, the CHOICE is more running (a 60/40 split), but that doesn't mean that they can't throw the ball with efficiency when they want or need to.

2021 Jones-Richardson first 3 Gm's Passing Combined:
55 of 88 (62.5%) for 651 Yds, 4 TD's, L-75.

2021 Rushing:

Richardson 25.0 YPC, 2 TD's, L-80
Davis ------- 6.8 YPC, 2 TDs, L-31
Pierce -------6.1 YPC, 5 TD's, L-20
Wright ------ 5.8 YPC, 0 TD's, L-30
Jones ------- 5.5 YPC, 2 TD's, L-33
-----
Bowman - 7.6 YPC, 0 TD's, L-26
Lingard --- 3.9 YPC, 0 TD's, L-12
~ Team --- 7.6 YPC, 1,007 Yds, 11 TD's, L-80, >>> 335.7 Yds/Gm
==========

Each season, Dan adjusts his game plans and play calling to fit what's best for the Team to do.
Last year it was pass more, this year it's run more, but don't confuse that with not being able to do both/either when needed.

Get past the stats and he almost won the game with the spark he provided.
