We could be responsible for the destruction of the SEC...

That's a little reactionary. The East was dominant for a long time. But when University of freaking Florida is non-competitive with Arkansas, it's tough to argue. For any of these scrub teams to play in Atlanta is an absolute joke. There is no excuse for Tennessee, UGA and particularly UF to be as bad as we have been. It is a real failure on the part of each of our Athletic Departments. Missouri won the East two years in a row, and Kentucky might win it this year.

I don't think it's going to get better any time soon. Barring one of our freshmen qbs really breaking out, I don't see much hope for us to improve in the next couple years. I think UGA made the same mistake we did (apparently twice) in expecting the Saban fairy dust to rub off on an otherwise run-of-the-mill redneck. And Butch appears to finally be driving UT completely off the rails.

coaching is the biggest part of all 3 being so bad, by far...

There's still a lot of games left to be played.
The east still gets to play their end year rivals.
If the SEC east can win 75% of those games (which is a tall order) then the noise about how bad the SEC East is will quiet down.

Nick Saban is looking more and more like a lone genius. It's impressive how he can swap out basically anyone in that program and barely miss a beat.

Hiring one of Nick Saban's coordinators as a head coach is sort of like signing Max Weinberg to a solo record deal and expecting it sell like Bruce Springsteen.

The insane recruiting going on there is what is keeping him propped up. Kids want to come into a program winning on Day 1.

That's stupid! There have been 24 games, with the West having a 13-11 edge in wins.

Did they do all this dismantling talk when the East went 7-3 in the first decade of the event, or held a 10-5 lead after the 15 years of it?!

Just curious, but I don't see 3 of these 4 games going the SEC East way...and did see the comment about a tall order.
  • UGA/GT - This is a complete tossup. Both are bad.
  • SC/CLEM - Clemson will roll them
  • Kentucky/Louisville - Will Louisville score 100 is the only question here.
  • FSU/UF - Could be close, but in Tallahassee and LBs are dropping like flies.
I see all 4 games as underdogs and lucky to pull out 1 win, and be completely surprised with 2.

Clemson barely beat a much-worse SC team last year (5 pts). SC is much improved, Clemson is not as good as last year but very lucky. Not expecting a SC win but it won't be a cake walk.

I agree on the UGA/GT toss up, but I would lean toward UGA. The game is in Athens

Clempson should have rolled the Gamecocks last year but it still turned into a game that wasn't decided until the last minutes. South Carolina is playing much better at the end of the year than they were last year. Clempson's offense is no where as good as it was last year. The game is in Clempson so that's going to be huge. There's enough game footage for Muschamp to cause problems for their offense. The question is can the Gamecocks score on Clempson's defense. Clempson's had close games with Auburn, Troy, NC State, and Florida State (I'm ignoring the shootout with Louisville) It's not a stretch to think this game could be close as well.

UK/Louisville, I honestly don't know what to think of this game. The game is @ Louisville and Kentucky has had no consistency in their games. Getting smashed @ Florida but still putting together wins against MSU and Missouri. Kentucky is getting a break with Austin Peay before the game while Louisville has a Thursday night game with Houston. I would be wary of taking any spread for Louisville over 14.

FSU/Florida, I would give Florida the win on this except the Gators have to play at LSU the week before this game and it's away. I still think it's a toss up with it leaning to Gators.

I didn't say I think that winning 75% is a sure thing. Simply that it's possible.
If it were to happen I think it would go down like this;

Jawja and Florida wins and either South Carolina or Kentucky wins.

You can't simply write off those rivalry games. South Carolina beat Clempson in 2009 Georgia beat Georgia Tech. Clempson and Georgia Tech both went on to play in the ACCCG.

Louisville looked horrible against Virginia and Virginia has really looked poor this season. (Starting the season with a loss to Richmod really set the tone)

Not trying to prop Kentucky up but....

Chris Wright of SDS -- Debate: Should SEC revamp title game format, pick 2 best teams?
Once again, the two best teams in the SEC won't play for the SEC Championship Game.

Where were these hypocrites when UF, Tenn, and sometimes UGA were all better than any team in the West division? o_O

Danielson on "The First Team" this morning arguing for the elimination of East-West divisions because the East is so terrible.
What does Gary Danielson have to do with the SEC? What is he supposed to know? What other divisions in the ACC or big 10 or any other conference are better than our East. He is basing his assessment on this season? Where did he come from anyway?

Based on your posts he knows more than you....oh, I get it now, you're not really this dumb, you must be a rival pretending to be a cock....clemson fan? Maybe a nole?

The SECe is a joke. Worst division in a P5 conference. I am not for blowing it up as the balance of power always shifts. That said, currently winning the SECe is not really something to brag about. Its means you might be the 5th or 6th best team in the SEC

Cannot agree. Look at the top 2 teams in the ACC Coastal. Both lost at neutral sites to SEC East teams, with one of 'em, the likely ACC Coastal winner, getting blown slap out.

The SEC East is bad. The ACC Coastal is worse.

This may be one of the best analogies for this I've ever seen! (Obviously I'm a bit biased as a drummer of course.)
