No, I did not base it primarily off of polling. I used votes from Presidential elections as a percentage of the population. That has significantly more data points and is relative over time when used as a percentage to compare the two.
Trump’s endorsement record is strong, but that is nearly impossible to quantify. So you are asking a question versus Reagan that can’t be validated. But even if he were batting a 100% it still doesn’t mean he is the most popular president of all time. It does mean that his endorsement Carrie’s a lot of weight within the Republican Party - something I have never said otherwise.

The problem is the population density, especially in blue states. It is overwhelmingly blue.
Remember, Trump only lost by 40,000 total votes in six states. His call with Georgia was 11,500 votes (or so). Most of where he lost ground? Suburbs.
Illegal Immigration, which has been going on for decades and now the children, born in the U.S. and so citizens are voting. They are trending R, but Hispanics still vote 60%+ D, that is the difference along with the Trump "mean tweets" and how off putting it was to white suburban women and their husbands (Trump lost ground with white men, especially college educated in 2020) in those districts that led to the 40,000 vote margin.
And that's pretty worthless for a couple of reasons:
1 - 1984 was a landslide win for Reagan. Walter Mondale was a horrible candidate and had almost no support.
2 - Election integrity was non-existent in 2020. You are using the numbers the media gives you on Trump's support, as I said. We know that in certain areas, machines were rigged to count every Trump vote as being worth 0.75 of a vote, and every Hiden vote was worth 1.25 votes.

Additionally, Trump's approval ratings among republican voters are higher than any other republican president, including Reagan.

Trump did not win California, nor will he if he is the 2024 candidate. No other republican will either. Californian has not gone republican since 1988. There are way too many Democrat votes in the largest population areas. If a republican wants to win the 2024 election they must do it without California.

Voting controls is important too, but if a citizen is a true citizen (even if parents came in illegally) with a voter-ID and in person voting, then that vote is cast and legal.

@fsumc brought up this discussion almost a few years back when voter fraud appeared in 2000. Broward County is pretty much one of the very few areas that are committing fraud. Duval County is a joke. No way Gillum and Biden won Duval legally.

A very old problem we have in Florida comes out of SoFla where we have part time residents from the Northeast who vote in this state AND in NY/NJ. Before the computer age came along it was easy. Too easy. Plus the issue was compounded when several states wouldn’t share resident voter rolls with Florida.
Dead voters from Jersey City have no business voting in either state.
By the way, this goes way back - much further than 2020.
As for Duval County Mike Hogan, our Supervisor of Elections, he has worked hard to boost confidence with the electorate.
