Fan's don't do that in-depth, but I suspect that those doing the hiring do/should.

Lambo is too much of a wuss to say it himself in front of the teams legal counsel so he has his agent snitch on Meyer.

If the team wants him to talk to their lawyers then it is smart to have your lawyer talk to their lawyer. The team was the party that brought in lawyers. Surely you understand how that changed the way the player needed to discuss the complaint.

While I’m sure Urbs would have no problem getting an HC job in college, he has some challenges now that he didn’t before.

The transfer portal and NIL have upended recruiting. It’s unclear how this plays out. And athletes won’t accept as much abuse from coaches.

And part of being a good recruiter and leader is being someone that people can respect and want to be associated with. Nick Saban may not be a big bag of charisma, but he exudes competence and self-control. Urb’s respectability has taken a hit since leaving Ohio State.

I think we are underestimating the damage of this "kicking the kicker" story.

It's going to be tough to sit in a player's kitchen and tell his momma that he is going to take good care of her boy when he has been outed as an abuser. And any momma that doesn't know the story will be sure to hear it courtesy of everybody else recruiting her son.

Well, yes, but mommas tend to have tunnel vision about their sons. She might ignore a Zach Smith story (Urban wasn't the actual abuser) but kicking a player? Not MY baby!

Actually, having grown up in Tampa when the Bucs were the Yuks, then moving to JVille 20 years ago, you get immune to your NFL team being lousy. It's the Gators that concern me, and only the Gators.

I like it when the Bucs or Jags (or even the Dolphins) do well but I don’t lose sleep when they don’t.
