Here's what I know as of today...we have several very qualified candidates from those that administration and football staff interviewed for the GM position (will actually carry some other title as Jacob LaFrance now has GM title). We are now vetting deeper those who we are focused on to find the absolute best fit for our program...we will have this person on staff by sometime early February...feel really good about this hire and what it will do for our program.
Wish I felt same about OC. I was told adamantly that hiring an OC was a condition of giving Coach a vote of confidence and retaining him. As of today, I would tell you that Napier will retain the OC duties himself. I don't like this for several reasons...first I think he is a "good" OC but we need and deserve better than "good" OC. second, by giving up OC responsibilities I think BN becomes a better CEO and head football coach. I am extremely disappointed. BN is putting all of his chips on himself...love BN but if I'm him I'd go in another direction. I know for a fact that we've had several OC's who I think are a better fit for our roster, reach out extremely interested in our OC position. See SOS hiring Bobby Stoops and Billy Donovan hiring Larry Shyatt! Game changing hires taking our programs from really good to elite. BN needs to do the same IMO.
The defensive staff will work itself out in a "Billy Napier" reasonable amount of time...not my timeline but a BN timeline
