Sure, we live in polarizing times, but these actions are horrific and are not reflective of a flagship, research one university, whose mission is to produce and share knowledge.
  • There was external pressure to destroy COVID-19 data and inconsistencies in procedures for things like data destruction.
  • A State of Florida government entity created barriers to and delayed publication of COVID-19 data.
  • UF employees were told verbally not to criticize Gov. Ron DeSantis or UF policies related to Covid-19 in media interactions.
I wonder if this is being used to negatively recruit athletes who are interested in getting a quality education.

If you think any football players give a rats @$$ about that I’d say your wrong. If someone were trying to use that to a younger me, I’d say how are they at coaching football & oh yeah they’re a top 5 public academic school. Oh & DeSantis > Biden.😁

First, take this shit to the lounge.
Second, recruits could give two shits about COVID.
Third, your post reflects the poor decisions and corruptness of the State of Florida government and DiSantis. Not the University of Florida.

It's not a professor's position to share political position whatsoever at the University. If they do then they shouldn't be a professor anywhere. They are there to teach not share their positions on religion or current political positions. As far as criticism of the governor ,no government employees should be allowed while on the clock to discuss such matters or personal opinion. Lastly it makes no sense how anyone would use this against recruiting. Every Young man and woman who are athlete's want to perform.

Well, for the longest time, the athletic department was told, don't embarrass us. We are becoming a first class research university and we need our reputation intact. Well now the shoe is on the other foot. UF's academic part is generating negative news. Ha!

Embarrassing. There are a large number of student athletes who want a good education. Football? maybe not so much. But I hope you realize that UF has hundreds of student athletes.

Oh, that COVID is just a flu is incredibly uneducated take. And it isn’t merely one option vs another.

Does anyone really take the wuhan willies seriously anymore?

How 'bout making (keeping) UF an academic institution, and not a political cesspool. I don't want some liberal "professor" popping off against our governor/president just to gain a headline or make a name for himself. Opinions are like a##holes -- everyone has one.
Interesting...

The board has hit a new all time low……

Take this crap to the Gator Lounge you pleeb!

Thank you for your fascist comment - telling professors they're not allowed to speak because they might say something bad about the governor is exactly that - fascism

It’s definitely embarrassing but I don’t see it having any effect on football recruiting.

Yes between this and the women's bball team, we are an embarrassment. But it doesn't play any role in football recruiting
