UF/Fuchs to be investigated by Congress Subcommittee

Village People-like In the Navy?
Yeah, he’s the gay one

seinfeld-not-that-theres-anything-wrong.gif

One of the uf professors complaining is here in Jax. Goldhagen would still have schools closed here if it were up to him. Go ahead and dig into this guys finances and see what it yields, some scrutiny should be placed on his community “medical directorships”. The guy is a real winner.

In a day and age where parents are investigated by the FBI for holding school boards accountable this is absolutely “worthy” of congressional investigation

The FBI is not investigating parents for holding school boards accountable, they are investigating anyone that threatens violence against school board members.

Seems like an attempt from the Democrats to try to see if UF throws Desantis under the bus and throws dirt out there especially since DeSantis is a strong candidate for Vice President and even President for 2024 elections. There are more pressing needs for Congress to be focusing on like worst inflation in 30 yrs, rising gas prices, unemployment, national debt, crime, unemployment, economy, upcoming recession…
This is correct, it’s all political and I’m not taking sides but the Democrats are a little late to the table. It’s time for all us Gators to close ranks and start supporting our university over a bunch of congressmen on some sub-committee. If you can’t see through this you’re not too smart

As I’ve said, there is so much more going on beneath the surface. The story of the six professors is significant, especially considering that you have a university acting as and on behalf of the state to limit free speech. This should never happen and if you believe in this type of stuff then you believe in tyranny, not democracy. But there are other things happening that will be unearthed through this investigation.
You gonna share any of what this is that’s going to come to light? You seem awfully in the know.

The professors were told they couldn’t be paid experts using the state universities resources to provide expert testimony against the state of Florida. They could do it without utilizing school resources and couldn’t be paid for it. This is not controversial at all and it is within their contracts as professors. It is a politically motivated story cause anything anti desantis is on certain news sources.

That is not true. Original documents show that they were not allowed to testify because of the university’s relationship with the state. After it went public then the university made it about pay.

If you want to protect the university then you should encourage our administrators to act with integrity. Approving a medical license for Ladapo in two days due to political pressure is not what this great university is nor should be about.

And if they were conservative professors you would have this same opinion ?

Thought this would be about suspicion of fraud or violation of anti kickback laws for keeping Mullen around so long.

And local law enforcement can’t handle it? The FBI has no business getting involved. Politics is why they are involved which is despicable.

Yes. Because I believe in free speech. I also believe that the university serves an important role in upholding this ideal.

We are walking a tight rope in this country when we equate one party or better yet one leader with embodying the ideals of democracy. And yet I’m afraid that we have gone too far. Certain states are legalizing censorship and curtailing other important rights. I care about the welfare of my country and the sustainability of our republic.

Wow, that’s really amazing. Not what’s happening at the University but the fact that @Swamp_Thing was close to being right. That hardly ever happens.

Of course he’s a Navy chief so we have to make him believe that he’s right and that he actually runs the Navy 🙄🙄🙄
Chief? I thought he was an Admiral!

I also want to add that then professors in the case are highly esteemed in their respective fields. Students of all racial, economic, and political backgrounds take their courses and leave further informed. Despite what is commonly touted about the university and UF in particular, it is not some liberal playground of indoctrination. Facts bear that out.
For enlightenment purposes, what facts?

You think DeSantis is going to be taken down by the University of Florida not allowing a few professors to be paid for outside work? Not saying UF didn’t screw up here, but I doubt the Governor is concerned.
It's just a way for someone who hates him to blame him for something else. The dude has done a ton to keep Florida steering on course through this disaster. Just one man's humble opinion....

I'm late to the party and really don't know shit, but why in hell should UF pay them to go to DC and testify before congress? I run a business. Why would I pay an employee to go to DC and testify? Unless it had something to do with my business? Only liberal snowflakes have answers for that. They want to pay everyone for everything. My God, when does it stop? Small business people are getting hammered, by rules and regulations as it is.

This is a difficult concept for some ppl to understand bc it’s easy to make assumptions and group everyone into a tiny little box if they have a different opinion than them.

This will not cause harm to DeSantis.
But DeSantis has one, maybe two huge obstacles.
1) The "former guy" is demanding fealty and endorsement from DeSantis for the 2024 Presidential election. Of course DeSantis is gunning for the job himself. So what happens if Trump endorses someone else in the 2022 Governors election? This would be Trump's opportunity to squash DeSantis well before 2024. Trump believes his support "made" DeSantis Governor with his endorsement in the 2018 election. And if he made him he can break him.
2) Covid. DeSantis' reckless laws regarding vaccine mandates (in my opinion and the opinion of the vast majority of practicing physicians, of which over 96% had been vaccinated by June https://www.ama-assn.org/press-cent...-96-doctors-fully-vaccinated-against-covid-19 ).
Example of what could happen. 60% of Floridians have been fully vaccinated. 60% of Austria has been fully vaccinated yet Austria is currently having a surge of the virus and the entire country is going on a national lock down for 10 days. I have read several medical articles that predict a large surge in Florida in late winter and early spring. Reasoning the old folks that were immunized 10 months or so, and the young people who had Covid last year, will both be losing their immunity unless the old folks get a booster and the young get vaccinated. 60k Floridians already dead from covid and still 100 dying every day. If this surge happens, it will be because our Governor decided to focus on his political ambitions and trash science.
Newsflash: "real" science is about as political as math. It is the based on the interpretation of data and then peer reviewed for accuracy. If it ends up being politics vs science, at the end of the day science will go undefeated.

#1 above is guaranteed to happen. If DeSantis does not come out and say if Trump runs he will not, Trump will endorse someone else in the Republican primary for Governor (see Georgia where Trump endorsed David Perdue over the current Republican Governor Brian Kemp). DeSantis vs a Trump acolyte for the Republican primary next year will be ugly and damage both brands.
I sincerely hope #2 does not happen...but as we know "hope" is not the best medical strategy.

So DeSantis has much bigger problems than the professors at UF.

Yes what you said is true in both senses. The professors were not allowed to use their time and school resources to testify against the state funding their salary and departments. What makes that any way controversial. If they want to become expert witnesses against state entities in Florida, maybe they shouldn’t be professors at the flagship university. This is not hard to comprehend. Stop letting the media craft some narrative that any of this is wrong.

These three professors are left wing trash and everyone knows it. One of the most notoriously outspoken law professors is involved. Someone that has worked for decades to basically rid the law school of any conservative speech. Get out of here with this take.

Threats such as “we’re gonna throw you out of office”

keep telling yourself “there’s nothing to see here.” The FBI is using counter-terrorism tools on parents who stand up to school boards. “Threat” is also defined by the “threatened” school boards.

Lol this guy’s statement is part of the reason why their getting investigated to begin with. You cant willingly hide academic research because your opinion differs from pure facts all to reinforce your political stance. This isn’t Russia.

Do you think the vaccines for mumps, measles and polio should be eliminated or would that be reckless? What's the difference?
The difference is Covid is much worse than measles was in the pre vaccine era.
"In the decade before 1963 when a vaccine became available, nearly all children got measles by the time they were 15 years of age. It is estimated 3 to 4 million people in the United States were infected each year. Also each year, among reported cases, an estimated 400 to 500 people died, 48,000 were hospitalized, and 1,000 suffered encephalitis (swelling of the brain) from measles."
According to Johns Hopkins 352,000 Americans died of Covid in 2020 and that number has been surpassed in 2021.
So comparing measles data to covid numbers, why should the measles vaccine be mandated? Over 350k deaths for covid per year vs 500 deaths for measles?

Give me time, I've still got at least 12 more years in me give our take a few months.
Of course I was kidding. I am a Mustang myself. I'm not familiar with what routes are available for you to pursue a commission but if the opportunity is there I highly recommend that you go for it.

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but vaccines for small pox, mumps, measles and polio PREVENT you from getting those diseases, right? The COVID vaccine doesn't do that. What gives?

BTW, I will be pleasantly surprised if the doc above actually answers my question ...

Baaaaaa….your a sheep….go ahead and drink the kool-aid. Make sure you do what the government tells you to do. Stand 6’ feet apart, wear your mask, stay in your house, shut your business down, etc. etc. You are being controlled and you don’t even know it. But it is America so you are free to believe what you want to believe…..uh…..wait….you can only believe what you want if it fits the narrative of the controlling elitist.

I live in Florida. I continue to support DeSantis on his stances to protect everyone’s right to choose to get or not get the vaccine. I support his stance to allow citizens to not be discriminated against at their job because they chose not to get the vaccine. I believe in your right to make personal choices that are right for you and your family. I would hope that you believe I have the same right even if you disagree with my choice. Isn’t that the principles on what our country was founded?

I am a middle of the road guy when it comes to politics. Gay marriage….who am I to say it is right or wrong. Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, atheist….who am I to tell you what to believe. Abortion…I don’t really agree with it, but I am not a woman….so who am I to tell a woman what to do. I do believe there could be a compromise where maybe you set a certain time period after conception when an abortion could be had. The thing is all of my positions are based on respecting your right to make your decision. I will defend your right to do that. Once I stop defending your right to choose, then my right to choose becomes threatened.

The Chinese communist came to power by creating a rift between the rich and poor since they didn’t have different races to turn against each other. Hitler came to power by blaming the Jews for the problems going on in Germany. It is the classic blueprint for obtaining power. Divide and conquer. Currently in America, division is being propagated between our races. Now the ante is being upped by the government. Scaring the populace into slowly giving up their personal freedoms because Covid is so bad. If you don’t do what the government says then we will all die. Just another step into integrating us into a one world order. Look at Australia. They are trying to stop their own citizens from even being able to go to a store, eat out, etc. unless they have been vaccinated. Never happen here….well it has. Look at New York City. Talk to people in locked down states and see how they feel. What are the next freedoms we will have to give up? We are steadily being programmed to accept the state as the end all to be all.

Some quotes from Lenin:
*We can and must write in a language which sows among the masses hate, revulsion, and scorn toward those who disagree with us.
*The press should be not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer of the masses.
*It is, of course, much easier to shout, abuse, and howl than to attempt to relate, to explain.
*People always have been and they always will be stupid victims of deceit and self-deception in politics.
*Give me just one generation of youth, and I'll transform the whole world

Do these things seem like they are happening in America today? We have been on this slippery slope for some time. Now it is just starting to kick into high gear.

Sorry about getting on my soapbox. I hope I am wrong.
