It's been discussed over the last few years but looks like it's finally happening. Appears like they purchased a good chunk of land from a family on the west side of town, which will be managed/conserved by UF/IFAS. Due to the preservation, the family donated another 580 acres for the gold course, club house, and other development projects. All of this in turn will pave the way for UF to utilize the land currently being used as the golf course on campus.
