I'm a little surprised with how thrilled UF fans seemed to be with their defense last year.
Yeah, it's really weird. They will freely admit the defense quit in the 4th qtr against us allowing Cook to get all those yards. Like that's not a coaching issue. When players quit, that is directly on the coach. I personally don't think they quit but many gators do.
I get the feeling that a lot of Gator fans think they had a top 3 defense last year that was held back because of the offense. I just don't see it. UF's 2015 defense reminded me a lot of FSU's 2012 defense. A solid unit that had great stats due to playing some terrible offenses, but a unit that really fell short against the better quality teams.
Georgia, Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina all had scoring offenses 85th or worse. That doesn't include powerhouses New Mexico State and East Carolina. Here's UF's defensive rankings vs. ranked opponents:

I get that the stronger unit on a team will typically receive less criticism, but I think Florida fans have an inflated sense of how good their defense actually was. Just my opinion.

Approval?? No, I was responding to a poster who was acting like getting spanked by the Noles was something new. Since 1980 we hold the edge in wins so thank Tebow for keeping it close since then. You guys were killer back in the 50's and 60's. Now, not so much.
and tebow is absolutely not why you were getting bent over in the years he was there, every single player on the team had something to do with that, FSU never even scored a TD for years.. The 06 game was never even close to the score, I was there. The fans were hilarious in that game, it's the only game ive ever been to in Tally... Ill never forget the fans cheering when a call got reversed in UF's favor and the kids in the student section were the dumbest ive ever encountered about football and it's not even close, the stadium got so excited on that KO return where he stepped out of bounds and some kid was pointing and yelling in my face while none of it counted lol.

As CountryGator pointed out, in every single calendar decade, Florida has the advantage over FSU. Except for the 90s. That includes the last calendar decade, as well as the 80s.
You guys have a 5-1 advantage this decade thus far. So this one might be your second.
Yet we have beaten you more than you have beaten us over the last 35 years. I'll take it.
