Another example.

As a veteran that served in combat and lost comrades for him to achieve this and do this and get us out of these endless wars as one of his greatest achievements. It used to be something the left criticized Bush about, keeping us in this in this war. Can you get them braces when Obama refuse to do the right thing and now they criticize Trump for making it happen. The only one that could. He fought every bit of the deep state to make this happen.

Y’all are blinded idiotic propaganda puppets with a total inability to critically think, it is your downfall. They trained you to hate the greatest president in our lifetime like little mindless puppets. You’re pathetic Americans not worthy of the tile.

I remember the Right criticizing Obama for pulling out of Iraq. How is that any different?

You guys should not be allowed oxygen anymore. How can you be so blind not to realize the difference, not to realize what’s really going on.

Really? Do you live in a bubble?

The withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq began in December 2007 with the end of the Iraq War troop surge of 2007 and was mostly completed by December 2011, bringing an end to the Iraq War.

The situation on the ground (combat, IED's, kidnapping, shia vs sunni violence) was much different when Obama wanted to schedule our withdrawal as compared to what we're seeing in Afghanistan.

Regardless, my point remains. Personally, I agree with both Obama and Trump on this matter.

No, your point does not remain. Two different situations. What you're pissing and moaning about is a tit for tat. The right complained about Iraq so therefore the left gets to do the same here despite the huge differences in the underlying withdrawals.

At some point you must at least attempt common sense over team sports partisanship, right?

No, I’m responding to the above comment.

“Obama never pulled out of Iraqi moron. Trump got us out of Iraq and Afghanistan you ****ing idiot.”

of course the situations were different. No two wars are ever the same. Sure, you can always second guess the timing. It doesn’t change the fact that the very same people lauding Trump for getting our troops out of harms way are some of the very same people that criticized Obama. Should Obama have left troops in Iraq forever?

Ditto. Back at ya.

And you must have missed the part about me agreeing with Trump pulling troops out. Selective reading, I guess.

Not sure if serious.

No, can't leave troops there forever.

The timing of when Obama was trying to schedule the withdrawal made no sense. The violence was boiling over. He wanted to fulfill a campaign promise...but the timing and the situation on the ground just didn't make sense.

The timing of his withdrawal was NOT second guessed, it was first guessed. Obama was told the timing was bad when he floated the idea, while he pushed the idea and then again as he began to execute the idea. That's not a second guess.

Because the two situations are different, it is logical that pulling the troops may be better in one situation than in the other situation. You get that, right?

100% correct. Again this is not a Democrat or Republican thing. This is an establishment deep state versus Trump and America thing. Problem is it dumb ass puppets like this don’t know the difference. It’s up to intelligent Americans above the average IQ to fix this for them.

Of course. But that’s just a matter of opinion. And Obama was listening to his military advisors when he made that decision.

My IQ has been tested at 99, therefore above average.

Take that, Doc.

No, I didn't miss that part. And I agree. But dude, that makes the point you're making even worse:

You agree that it's logical to remove the troops given the situation on the ground in Afghanistan....

...however, many of the people lauding Trump for wanting to bring troops home (from Afghanistan where the fighting has lulled and factions are trying to make peace independently) criticized Obama for wanting to bring troops home (from Iraq, where sectarian violence was on the uptick, where multiple enemies were killing American troops, Itaqi civilians and each other, and before the Iraqis could stand on their own two feet).

One thing does not look like the other. So yep, it makes sense to laud one and not the other.

We are still in Germany Japan and S Korea...I have no problem staying in Iraq or Afgahnistan if that's what it takes to keep them in line with Pax Americana.

What in the entire fvck....

Nope....I tried. Re-read the above if you so choose but I've expended more effort than I intended...to no avail. Stick with tit for tat @BSC911 .
It was a good effort. I tried once too but sometimes he just can’t move the goal posts fast enough.

I do. Strategically it made sense to keep troops in Germany to counter the Soviets. Ditto in Japan...adding communist China to the mix. South Korea is an entirely different situation as it was only a cease fire with an unstable regime to the north.

You can make the case that bases in Iraq make sense strategically but we have others in the region that fit that bill. In Afghanistan, they make little sense. It's a backwater and you can re-enter anytime you need to with relative ease.

Our troops in Germany, Japan and South Korea are a stabilizing presence. I think they are the opposite in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Afghanistan is land locked and was a perfect home base for the terror cell AQ. The Talib are a bunch of thugs and could easily side with terrorist again. Pakistan might not be as agreeable next time to letting us have access to Afghanistan.

Iraq is next door to Axis of evil country #2 Iran. Iraq is also ripe for more extremism from orthodox Islamist such as ISIS or whoever the next group is.

But Pax Americana requires these countries to focus on commerce and avoid any kind of violence internal and external...hence the word Pax.

Troops in Europe and Japan and South Korea can leave their bases and interact with the public peacefully. The same cannot be said in Afghanistan and Iraq. The cultural values are too extreme from one another.

Proof that there is work to be done ... and no I am not talking about "democracy" necessarily.

If Bush hadn't been suckered into purple thumbs we would be in Tehran today as well.

The Shah was well on his way to modernizing Iran so you don't have to have a democracy to be a part of Pax Americana. You just have to play nice and not break any toys.

We are very generous as the COVID bill showed.

I have no issue with intelligence assets and SF located in undisclosed areas in and around Afghanistan.

Remember we invaded Afghanistan successfully with a very small force.

Oh yeah I would love SF in Afghanistan going out every night and killing Talibs wherever they can be found and then returning to a safe base for the day. But that would require sane ROE in a war on terror and Islamists.

One ROE being that just membership in the Talib is a death sentence.

You guys will believe literally anything. It's sad.

First of all, here's an article about it, and it's just Trump's toy boys being jerks, as usual. Nothing about China.

Second, use your God damn brain for 5 seconds just once! CHINA HAS SATELLITES! They know if an unauthorized fishing boat is in their waters! You actually think they need spies for something like this? And even if they got that call, to which they would respond "no there isn't", because, like I said, satellites, how would the US know that they got the call at all?

Seriously, if China had no idea who was in their territorial waters, and we had spies so well placed we knew the contents of every single phone call, do you think they would be a world power?

Good gravy, none of you has a damned lick of sense. It's embarrassing to think any of you were even accepted to UF, much less graduated. Making me rethink my pride in my University.
