Trask is the best passing QB

Unbelievable as it may sound, Insta nailed this one. And props to butter teeth for recruiting this kid.

again, he had nothing to go on outside of him being big, an Eagle Scout, and that Doug Nussmeier said he thought he was better than a 5 star.

that's it.

coaching and recruiting/transfer portal is the biggest factor in Kyle Trask turning into the player he is.

Mac and Nuss and Insta had nothing to do with it.

But Insta called it. And called it and called it and called it.

Oh, I agree, he had nothing to go by, he was just a blind hog finding an acorn.

But it's okay to pat him on the head after he finds the acorn and say "good pig".

Is this correct? Trask was behind UM's qb in high school? WTF was that high school smoking?

That’ll do, pig. That’ll do...

Just a word of advice... that’s not the best thing to say after sex

Mainly due to the offense they ran at that high school. The offense was more geared to a DT QB. In the long run it has worked out fine for Trask. He’s a better QB than King and will get drafted higher.

There are articles and quotes out there from their HS coach who highly praised Trask and the coach saying in the future he knew he'd be the questioned crazy coach who had Trask as a backup.

It was more/less the style of offense the school ran. One is crazy to deny D'Eric King's athletic ability. He is uber athletic.

Despite how good King ran the offense the coach still designed the offense to have Trask run the 3rd and 7th series of every game.

I can not remember how successful the Mansfield team was as far as winning championships but I do remember they beat out Jalen Hurts team in the playoffs.

Facts vs idiot regurgitated 'Fake News' from a few ignorant twits here.

First off, Trask's signing with the Gators was due to OC Nuss, not McLame.

The iG watched Trask's HS highlights.
And as I've said before, Dan/Brian polished a diamond, but they didn't start with a lump of coal.

The iG listened to what his HS coach said about him.

The iG watched him in his tFr O&B game, and in everything else since he arrived at UF.
Then the iG made his own assessment of the lads QB-passing abilities... o_O

Others here paraded their own prejudiced (pre-judged) 2-star backup ignorance, while pandering to their own chosen recruit or the retread xfer-in QB's. From the get-go I could see that Trask was better than Franks, and last night just proved it some more for me... :p

The iG wanted Trask as the starter when he was a new arrival true Fr.
The 'silver lining' of that not happening, is that McLame would likely still be the HC if he had started Trask back then, instead of turning the Gator QB position into a revolving cluster-Ph...

Being correct again here won't even buy me a cup of coffee, but it does allow me to say to my ignorant critics, KMA....

When is he going to be taken seriously for the Heisman? I think if he beats Bama in the SEC championship game than it's his for the taking.

I believe they lost in the regional finals but I know King set the state TD record formerly held by Kyler Murray

His HS coach advised him to xfer to another HS and be a starter.
But loyal Kyle said no, I'm staying with my team, just like he's done at UF.

King said that their team never viewed Kyle as a backup QB, they saw them the 1A and 1B QB's.
Trask and King were and are good friends, just like Trask and Franks are now....

loyalty isn't always the best choice. It worked out for him in the situation, but it could have gone very differently.

Vegas Odds Shark on the 2020 Heisman - 11-16=2020

Kyle Trask +175 (7/4)

Mac Jones +200

Justin Fields +275

Trevor Lawrence +325

Zach Wilson +2800

Kellon Mond +6600

~~ Of course the selection committee doesn't go by or care what the Vegas odds are, plus it's just mid-season.

In Insta's defense, he never waivered. I, myself wondered why Franks with all of his staring down receivers and taking needless sacks was our starting QB. I did not have the insight or opportunity to watch Gator practices. I just assumed the coaches knew best. Boy, was that a huge phucking short coming on my part.....but even more, theirs. 😂

I think it was a combination of Franks being more of a dual threat guy and Trask not having been a starter for like 5 years. Let's also not forget that Trask was about to win the starting job after Missouri in 2018, but got injured and missed the rest of the season and, I think, spring ball. Couple that with Franks rebounding to win 6 in a row after Missouri and it's not hard to see why he was still the starter. Although his play at UK was so bad I think, even if he hadn't gotten hurt, that Mullen was about to pull him anyway, he looked so lost in that game.

It was kind of ironic that an injury ended Franks' career at UF. After all, in 2017 he lost his starting job to Luke Del Rio vs Kentucky, who got hurt the next game ending in Franks getting the starting job back. Then he lost the job to Malik Zaire after the Georgia debacle but got it back when Zaire got hurt against South Carolina. Then lost the starting job to Trask after Missouri in 2018, but Trask got hurt before the next game and Franks retained his starting job. I was beginning to wonder if Franks was going all Tonya Harding on the rest of UF's QB's.

The issue is that even though Franks wasn’t doing great we were still winning ball games. We went to a NY6 bowl game with him as our starter in 2018. That can make things a little dicey

Saban, who switched QBs at halftime of the NC game says Wut?

Correct. Mop up duty.

yeah, and it was a terrifying sign of things to come. Look at the other freshmen he was playing with in mop-up.

a lot of teams throw In young kids for mop-up and basically hand the ball off and drain clock for a few minutes.

not Alabama that year.

Tua and crew were driving down the field throwing touchdowns.

Tua was a generational talent at QB in college.

Well, Joe Burrow came out last year too, and Mahomes a couple of years before that. Maybe generations a little shorter than they used to be.

IMO, it used to be that for a QB to be great, they had to have all the tools, a great head for the game, and either have a knack for avoiding injury or be big and strong enough to take a beating. And they had to be fearless. Because Dlinemen were coming to cause as much pain as possible. But nowadays, with the QB basically wearing the green jersey even in games, they don't need to be so big and strong, or so fearless, as there is less to fear. So all those smaller QB's who were smart and had the tools, but would get knocked out for the season by the third game every year, now can play all year long without much fear of injury. So the pool of talent has become bigger.

Trask is a really good one and gives us a chance to make the playoff. Franks has improved some but no way we have a passing attack like this with Franks at QB. Our passing offense is good enough to allow us to compete with anyone this year it looks like.

I agree with you about Trask being better. But your WRs have been so open this year Franks would look like a 3rd rounder right now. Your OL is vastly improved which would help Franks exponentially.

The thing with Trask though is he can go through his progressions and hit the 2nd or 3rd option. Franks can’t do that.

And that’s the difference between mediocre/good and great. Watching your game right now. Every throw has an open guy, wide open or Trask is using his eyes to get the next guy open. He’s on another level this year.

That TD right there to #1 is a great example of scheme and executioner married up. That was ridiculous. Most teams on a busted route that should have been a holding penalty on the DB would have been an incompletion because the WR would be flailing around whining about a flag. But Trask saw he could loft and allowed his WR a chance to adjust after being mugged. I hate this.
