Lets help @GatorTheo out and list all human inventions that lead to the death of humans when used for their designed purpose.

I'll lead off:
Knives
Bows
Crossbows
Spears
Swords
Cars
Trucks
Semi-trucks
Motorcycles
Bicycles
Boats
Trains
Planes
Spoons
Forks
Vaccines
Football
Skiing (water and snow)
Space Flight
Backhoes
Bulldozers
Rollercoasters
Amusement Parks
Processed Foods
Swimming Pools
Alcohol

Please add any human made tool that can, in its regular use, lead to a human's death so we can get this list to Washington so the government can ban them.

Hey, I'm just trying to follow your logic here.
I'm still waiting on your answer as to why you discriminate against guns when there are so many other human tools that were precursors designed to do the exact same thing as a gun.
Why are you not calling for the ban of:
Knives
Bows/Arrows
Crossbows
Spears
Swords

Why just guns using your logic?

I'll try again but I don't think you're able/willing to accept it.

The entirety of guns is designed for one job......shooting.

Not only that, but guns are the weapon of choice, by far, when it comes to committing violent crime.

If there were ever an epidemic of crossbow crime, we'd obviously need address it. The crossbow companies wouldn't like it, of course.

So, you see no role for guns in self-defense or hunting?
And the number one weapon of choice in violent crimes are actually fist, for what it is worth.

National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS)
From 1993 to 2001, only about 10% of violent victimizations involved a firearm.

There were 20k gun murders and 700k heart attack deaths in the US in 2021.

Which one is an epidemic?

Based off of what I've been hearing from liberals over the last 10 years, I am more concerned about the epidemic of stupidity 😂

They're absolutely used for self-defense and hunting. But they are very dangerous weapons and they need to be regulated as such. You shouldn't just overlook their deadly nature because you love guns.

I'm skeptical of data anymore because it is so often intentionally misleading however I can see fists being the most frequent tool in violence. They're always handy.

Ok, well that data came from the federal government, lol

And you never responded to this from the other thread. Given my points below, why your obsession with regulating guns?

Why do you think guns were invented? To target practice?
Oh, this is a serious question, I’m sorry. Allow me to retort.
Guns were invented for the following reasons:
National Defense
Conquest
Hunting
Self-defense
Celebration
Target practice
Defense from animals and reptiles
The list goes on and on for this tool

Interestingly, enough, the same reason why the following things were invented:
Bronze weapons
Iron weapons
Steel weapons
In particular, the sword, the lance, the spear, the bow and arrow, the Flintlock, the blunderbuss, the rifle, the machine gun, the cannon, etc.

From a purely archaeological standpoint, they all represent tools invented to improve man’s ability to survive so their first and primary function has always been hunting and defense

Only somebody with a simplistic understanding of archaeology and history would think that guns were simply invented to kill other people

Oh, the federal government? Well then it's obviously accurate.

I believe I did respond.

Guns were invented for celebration and target practice. I know you don't really believe that. But anything to defend guns, amirite?

Historically the reason most Americans resist gun control is based in our founding and history. We are a nation that had to fight for its independence from a dominant military power that once tried to confiscate our weapons to control us. Engrained in that was the reason for the second amendment. It is specifically designed to prevent a power, FORGEIN OR DOMESTIC, from gaining control over the people through confiscation of weapons. Hence the right to "bear arms." Notice it does not say, "bear guns."

I think if you look at this in that context, maybe you can understand the reluctance for Americans to cede their right to bear arms over to a power that they often think is not out to help them. Frequently of late I think that the government of my country is mostly just out for my money in taxes and doesn't truly represent me or the people I identify with as my American cultural base.

Now that is taxation without representation, but that is another topic.

No, that was not in response to my post, that was in response to another. You never responded to mine in that threat.. But take target practice and celebration out if that one bothers you, and respond to all the other uses, most importantly of which is defense against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I 'obsess' about regulating gun because 1) they are deadly weapons by design and 2) they are frequently used in deadly crime. I don't think any other tool or weapon fits both of those.

Guns are a defensive weapon design for self-defense and preservation. Because some bad actors use them to commit crimes is all the more reason to have guns to defend ourselves because the same bad actors will continue to commit crimes with or without guns.
I think the premise of your argument is incorrect because guns were not invented solely to kill so much as to defend. Therefore I think your argument is flawed and somewhat circular so I will just simply agree to disagree with you for all the reasons stated above.

Guns were invented to kill and incorporated into the US Constitution to stave off a tyrannical government. It's just that simple. No hunting, sport shooting, other recreational arguments are valid. It is what it is. Now, what has happened to the EU since they banned most guns, and what has happened to their countries?

That's what I thought, it's gone to complete shit with illegals invading their borders and turning them into shitholes.
