Todd Golden of San Fran

Hey buddy...you know a good portion of this thread is just you and insta basically hugging eachother, right?

sadgator’s aware….and quite-frankly bothered by it…when pretty much the only person laughing at and liking your material is insta…it does make you question things, for sure…

How? Thought we just hired Saban 2.0 as our football coach???
Not many on here have been huge on that. Maybe a small minority. I'm not hyped nor against him. Will say it's not from lack of effort. At least he is trying and not as eccentric as the last guy. You are basically bringing TOS topics to this board.

"Golden is about to lead San Francisco to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 1998. He is responsible for San Francisco’s two highest KenPom finishes in the 21st century and three of the top five. He’s only been there three years!

Todd Golden's Record coaching at Mighty San Francisco, 57-36 (.613) and is 23-22 (.511) in the power-house West Coast Conference.
~ He's replacing an incompetent Mike White that went 142-88 (.617) playing in the SEC.

San Fran made their 1st NCAA since 1998 as a 10 seed, and then went 1 & Done to Murray St. Todd played his college ball at St. Mary's, but at least he's a probation-Pearl protege....

He left Pearl in 2017 to become an assistant on San Francisco's staff under then-coach Kyle Smith. Golden learned under noted analytic maestro Kyle Smith, who is now the coach at WashSt. Smith left S.F. to become the head coach at Washington State in 2019, and the Dons promoted Golden following his departure. (so he won with Smith's players)

So yep, he looks like a fo-sho 'sure thing' to me, so let's guu-goaters.....

I guess they decided that he would be a way better hire than Rick Pit-teen-NO....

Interesting that your criticizing, in jest, his one and done when thats all MW has ever done multiple times with his own recruits that were MUCH more highly rated. Of course MW couldnt even do that multiple times aka NIT.

You trying to equate the situations is cute, but absurd.

Thats not surprising, however, since the facts that truely mattered never bothered you any more than a politician pushing an agenda.

Vast ignorance looks to be your forte on this.
MW has never gone 1 & Done in any tourney, ever, regular season or post season.

And just a FYI, MW's teams have gone to a post season tourney all 7 years.
NIT
4 NCAA's, plus projected to go when Co-V cancelled.
NIT

Never a losing season as a HC, while he's a 3 time CoY in 3 different conferences.

MW is the only B-Ball HC in UF history to never have a losing season, and to make a post season tourney every year.

I never said that MW never won more than 1 game.

Apparently you don't have much reading comprehension. I said MW hasn't never done better than 1 win WITH HIS RECRUITS, you all-star.

Even with your lack of reading comprehension, its amazing that you couldn't at least refer back to the times when I and others referenced this in other threads that you partook and engaged in that MW got to the elite 8 with BD's recruits.

Good grief, man, have some resemblence of having a clue. And you wonder why nobody takes you seriously.

Nobody here cares, except you, about fruitless winning seasons so stop yammering on about it already.

Now you need to go review the roster when he went to the E-8.

I've posted it before, but I'm not willing to bother with doing so again, just to show that you're FoS.
Hint: 3 Jrs that spent a Fr season under previous coach, then 2 with MW.

The rest of the team were recruited in or were xfers by MW.

Well prior to being the head coach at USF he was the assistant coach so he’s recruited all these kids so it sounds like you didn’t know that or haven’t done your research.

So now it's the assistant coach that get all of the recruiting credit?
I'm fine with that btw....

Where did I say that? He was the asst coach so I’m sure he had a hand or was involved in much of the recruiting of these guys. A little bit different than what you were basically suggesting

Nice comments, but since Pearl is a known liar and cheater I take anything he says with a grain of salt.
What was it Pearl did at UT? Held a bbq at his house? Whoooaaa.

As much as I love to clown on UT I'm not bothered by that with all else that goes on in NCAA sports.

I seriously doubt Golden learned that trait.

It was more than the barbecue, if you do some research. He lied to NCAA and school investigators and admitted other recruiting wrongdoings once things came out. Unethical liar, which has been going on most of his adult life and carried over to Auburn, which resulted in one of his assistants not only being fired but indicted for federal crimes. But of course Sweaty Brucie didn't know anything about that, right?

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The first major blow to the Florida basketball program has landed, with five-star power forward Malik Reneau backing off his commitment to Florida.

Can't blame the kid for re-evaluating his options. Can't blame White for trying to get his signees to follow him to Georgia. Hopefully, Golden can convince them to still come to UF. Same with all the roster players. Both coaches are going to go after the guys they think can help them win quickly, as they should.

Fortunately, if he does go to Georgia, he will be misused until he transfers in a year or two, so we won't have to worry about him beating us.
