More of a football guy but I just have to rant about losing to South Carolina again. They beat us last year in the Elite Eight. Will Muschamp has been better there than he was here and they had our Godfather bring them to relevance and even beat us for an SEC East title in '10.

We finally won a title in baseball this year but they have won like five. I am sick of losing to them because I unfairly view them as a SEC JR. program for some reason and every loss to them feels like a major upset loss.

OKAY that is all.....congrats on the win gamecocks(a freakin peacock man).

We won two national titles to their 0 while Spurs was at SC. The loss last year in the elite 8 sucks, but other than that what? Are you a USCjr catfish troll?

As it stands UF has 3 football titles, they have none.
UF has won as more national titles in basketball than they've been to final fours(never mind that we've been to 5 or 6 final fours)
UF has a baseball title, i think they have 2, but it's like the only sport they're good at.

Being a USCjr fan is the most depressing thing in sports, i can't imagine you're for real, have to be a troll.

It is aggravating to lose to the Gamecocks in basketball or any other sport, but the way they've beat us the last 2 years in hoops is just by being tougher than us. They were in our face defensively the whole game last night while our guys played too soft and had too many coverage lapses.
As for baseball, South Carolina won national titles in 2010 & 2011. That's it.
They are not at UF's level as an overall athletic program, though. Their only other national titles are: 1 in women's basketball, 3 in women's outdoor track, and 6 in some type of women's equestrian events. The Gators are the ONLY NCAA program to finish in the Top 10 All-Sports rankings for all 32 years they have been doing the rankings. We have also won 39 national titles and 224 SEC team championships, most of any SEC school, including 25 SEC All-Sports trophies in the last 27 years. Our national titles are: 1 in baseball, 2 in men's basketball, 3 in football, 4 in men's golf, 3 in men's indoor track, 4 in men's outdoor track, 2 in men's swimming, 2 in women's golf, 4 in gymnastics, 1 in women's indoor track, 1 in women's soccer, 2 in softball, 3 in women's swimming and 7 in women's tennis. In football vs. South Carolina, UF's record is 26-9-3. In baseball, the Gamecocks lead the all time series with UF 45-44. In basketball, the Gators hold a 44-26 edge in the series, including last night's loss. So hope this makes you feel better. It's still GREAT to be a Florida Gator!!!

No one said anything about them being a better program. The OP only said he was tired of losing to them in both sports. It is a fair point.

not how i interpreted his post, was just setting it straight. Hell, we're going to catch them in baseball this year, repeat inc. :)

I think Billy Donovan was 1-8 vs. Bruce Pearl at one point and still has a losing record to him. So long as the program succeeds overall, I could care less how we do against individual opponents (except FSU and UGA in football). USC clobbered us in hoops all last year, but does anyone think they didn't have a better team? Both their guards were drafted, and their bigs are always going to defend and rebound. Elite 8 was a great result.

In baseball, the USC team we lost to was a great team. We didn't choke that series, they won it. We're the current defending champions and will probably be preseason No. 1. Who cares about what USC did six years ago? We were 3-1 against them last year.

In football: McElwain. Enough said.

I was going to cite that exact thing when I wrote about White's record against USCe. Some coaches just have success against other coaches. You gave one good historical example.

*BTW, it should be written "I could NOT care less."

The only thing that matters to me as a fan in basketball is tournament success, the rest is just about getting in and getting seeded.

I am a spoiled sports fan to be sure, we have one of the best athletic programs all around for both men and women. My point is I take our standing with pride but when South Carolina beats us in a meaningful game it just seems wrong. I know they are an SEC program but I look at them like I do USF for some reason.

Totally understand.

I am just one of the devout members of the "Hate Frank Martin Fan Club." Don't know why, he is just irritating.

He seems like a complete psycho and also kind of cro-magnon, so it’s kind of irritating to lose to him. But he can recruit and you have to respect how tough his teams play. That game will never be a pushover.

I hate him for that, he and South Carolina need to know they should not come to Gainesville and win. You don't win championships at South Carolina. Below our boot heels is your place pheasants.

We have been the better baseball program for years. Crazy how we just won our first title this past year.

Also my post was a rant, view it as a Gamecock trolling if you want( they have enough fans for this?). My view is unfair but it is mine.

To each his own. I don’t have much hatred for USC, although I agree they should be subordinate to UF. I’ve had a lot of fun in Columbia, respected their baseball run and spent years rooting for Spurrier every week except one.

Good people, good town. I hope they beat Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee every chance they get. Oh and Clemson too, just don't forget what happens when a rooster meets a Gator.

Another example: White is 0-4 against Leonard Hamilton. 3 at UF, 1 at La Tech.

There you have it. I guess one difference between the Hamilton and Martin cases is that both White and Martin have accomplished far, far more in their career compared to Hamilton. At least, with regards to NCAA success.

How has White accomplished far, far more than Hamilton?
White has gone to an elite eight. Hamilton has not. White has nearly half as many NCAA tournament wins as Hamilton in 1/5 the time. White has a 75% winning percentage in the NCAA tournament. Hamilton's is less than 50%.

You mean other than all that?
