Tim Tebow requests a try-out with the Jags....

Well I mean...he did only complete 48% of his passes.

Again, only a few years later and teams began tooling offenses to utilize mobile QBs. Bad timing for Tim in the scheme of things (and honestly not surprised it was McDaniels who drafted him because he and the Patriots have always tried to stay ahead of the curve, so it makes sense that he saw the impending transition in the NFL.)

his release is not good. And it never was. Release isn't everything though. It does surprise me that, after all the time and effort and training and QB coaches he went through to try to fix it, it never seemed to get any better.

Also, have I mentioned before how much I hate John Fox?

Tebow has a really cool opportunity here because his body hasn't been taking a beating, he's still in fantastic shape, and he can do a little bit of everything and Meyer will know how to utilize it and get him to buy in.

just remember, Taysom Hill had been a TE for several years now but he comes in and plays in all kinds of situation, including starting the 4 games Drew missed last year.

Rookie Seasons: (how do you judge QB accuracy???)
El'dimway - 7 TD's to 14 Ints, QBR 54.9
P.Manning - 24 TD's to 28 Ints, NFL rookie QB Int record that still stands.
Tebow's 1st 16 starts - 19 TD's to 9 Int's, 75.3 QBR
>>> And that's after El'dimway traded away Denver's top two WR's before starting Tim on a 1-4 team.

The important thing for any QB, is where does the ball 'wind up' at....
Tim turned that 1-4 team around, made the Playoffs, and then beat the Steelers #1 NFL Defense in the NFL's shortest overtime Playoff game in history, 12 seconds, with an 80 Yd TD pass over the middle.
That was just one of Tim's Bronco & NFL Records he set in his (loser idiots) shortened career.
=====

The Jets foot sniffing HC, Guttosaurus Rex, kept The Sanchize and eventually released Tim.
That idiot decision got the gormless twit HC fired for incompetence shortly thereafter....
Tim @ Jets had a 75% completion percentage.
Using Tim twice on 4th down fake punts, Tim threw for a 1st down and then he ran for a 1st down.

While 'The Sanchize' got famous for his 'Butt-fumble' performance and for losing winnable games.
The Jets eventually fired both Rex and his Sanchize...

Tim wasn't a failure in the NFL.
The NFL failed Tim, while loving up on the wife and dog abusers.
This was not the 1st straw for me concerning the NFL, but it was the last straw....
The No Fun League had became the Nefarious Felony Losers, so I dropped them.

I hope Tim does well, but I still won't be watching or going to any NFL games.

I hope he does well too. Accuracy for me is not defined by a statistic of TDs and interceptions or yards gained. I watch the games and see if they throw on time to the right receiver, can they throw people open, are they hitting the receiver in stride etc. I think Tebow could have worked in the NFL with the right team and coordinator (look at Lamar Jackson). Tebows worst asset was his accuracy tho. Dude was a leader, competitor, hell of a runner, etc.

like I said, bad circumstances with timing, but at the same time, he just never could correct his throwing motion. Even in short passes. He still had the habit of doing that loopy arm throw like a baseball player. You'd think at least on the short stuff he could throw it from the ear.

I agree 100%.

A close look at their ACC vs SEC career stats is needed imo.

Career Lawrence vs mostly ACC Defenses:
758 of 1,138 66.6% for 10,098 Yds, 90 TD's, 17 Ints (5.3 to 1)
-----
661 of 995 66.4% for 9,285 Yds, 88 TD's, 16 Ints (5.5 to 1)
Career Tebow vs mostly SEC Defenses: (82% of snaps to Leak in 2006)

Both QB's ran the ball some too, the difference was SEC vs ACC D's:
Tim -- 692 for 2,947 Yds, 4.3 ypc, 57 TD's
-----
Trev -- 231 for 943 Yds, 4.1 ypc, 18 TD's

And Tim finished off his career in the Sugar Bowl vs #3 12-0 Cincy:
Set Sugar Bowl and BCS bowl records:
with 533 yards (482 pass/51 rush) of total offense, and

completion percentage going 31 of 35. (.886)
>>> That sure looks record breaking accurate to me....

Those numbers and what Trev showed on film led many to call Lawrence a transcendent prospect at the position. He was Mel Kiper Jr.'s highest-rated quarterback since Andrew Luck.

It amuses me that Trevor is seen as such a 'Golden Boy' at QB, while Tim is still portrayed by many as an undeserving and 'incompetent chump....'

I somehow doubt that Trev will win an NFL Playoff game vs the NFL's #1 defense in just his 15th start like Tim did, after taking over a team that started the season 1-4 under a 7th Year NFL Vet QB....

The Jags have officially signed Tebow to a 1 year deal as a TE.

And the haters here can diss on Jeff all they want to, but he's still a Millionaire NFL QB,,,,, and you're NOT....
😜

Texans sign QB Jeff Driskel to a 1 year 2.5 Mil + bonus deal.

It’s like a decade later and Tebow isn’t playing QB. All this media fiasco won’t last as long as it did last time. Plus Jacksonville is a smaller market team but they now have a player that is in the top 5 in the NFL in jersey sales. 😎

Urb should take a page outta Belichick's play book on how to handle the media's bs over Tim.

The main question on Tim is can he make the cut to 53. If not, then the contract becomes void, no guarantees have been given to him, as it should be....

Against a mostly ACC defenses, Lawrence: 3 Yrs
758 of 1,138, 66.6% for 10,098 yds, 90 TD's, 17 Ints, (TD/Int = 5.3 to 1)
Rush - 231 for 943 yds, 4.1 ypc, 18 TD's
Total Offense: 1,269 for 11,141 yds, 8.8 Yds/Play, 108 TD's.

Against mostly SEC defenses, Tebow: 3.2 Yrs
661 of 995, 66.4% for 9,285 yds, 88 TD's, 16 Ints, (TD/Int = 5.5 to 1)
Rush 692 for 2,947 yds, 4.3 ypc, 57 TD's
Total Offense: 1,957 for 12,232, 6.3 Yds/Play, 145 TD's

TL - 758 of 1,138, 66.6% for 10,098 yds, 90 TD's, 17 Ints, (TD/Int = 5.3 to 1)
TT - 661 of 995,,,, 66.4% for 9,285 yds,,, 88 TD's, 16 Ints, (TD/Int = 5.5 to 1)
>>> The SEC puts the vast majority of the DB's into the NFL every year.

TL - Rush - 231 for 943 yds,,,, 4.1 ypc, 18 TD's
TT - Rush - 692 for 2,947 yds, 4.3 ypc, 57 TD's
Tebow was running hard against the monster SEC defenses, while TL was occasionally taking off through gaping holes in the ACC defenses.

TL - Total Offense: 1,269 for 11,141 yds, 8.8 Yds/Play, 108 TD's.
TT - Total Offense: 1,957 for 12,232 yds, 6.3 Yds/Play, 145 TD's

Tebow set the NCAA single season record by being the 1st QB to break the 20/20 (run/pass) TD barrier with P-32 + R-23 = 55 TD's, and then being the 1st Soph to win the Heisman.
And he did that against the best conference defenses in the nation.

Now consider the vast difference in how Tim was used and treated by Denver and Saint John El'Dimway, compared to how Trevor is being treated by the Jags and Urban......

So, what brought this post by the iG out? It was an article on SI.

"Those numbers and what he showed on film led many to call Lawrence a transcendent prospect at the position. He was Mel Kiper Jr.'s highest-rated quarterback since Andrew Luck and enters the AFC South with grand expectations ahead of his first campaign."

Ignoring the career stats, College or NFL, does not change the fact that they tell the true story.
TT NFL Results - Went 9-6 as starter. In his 15th NFL start he beat the #1 defense Steelers in a playoff.
On the 1st play of OT, he hit his receiver over the middle in stride, going for a TD in the NFL's record shortest OT game in history (12 seconds). -- And that was with the loud mouthed Steelers LB screaming, "stop this guy, we can't let this chump beat us....."

Personally I hope that TL does well and plays QB for the Jags.
However,,, IF TL went down to injury, would Urban take the risk and put Tim in at QB??? And then what would happen if Tim played well??????

Would the NFL football world go into a tail-spin, or just explode into total chaos?

Jus-havin some off-season speculation fun with FSUcks #'s....

Seeing that Meyer released the fullback on the roster after taking over likely meaning a 4th TE type position I think Tebow will probably make the roster and be used for some goal line/red zone type plays.

He looks like he is at least a solid 250 lbs. All Meyer has said I think is he needs to focus on catching the ball with his hands and not using his body. The one TE out now is probably going to be the guy mostly on clear passing downs with Farrell in there as a run blocker mostly unless they decide to sign someone else and they have a veteran goal line guy (who is just there to block mostly I think).

Would love for Tebow to make the playing roster. However, with the way the NFL has gone so "woke" I'm not sure how much pro football I'll be watching anymore. Playing the Black National Anthem at every game now before the real American National Anthem is just too much for me.

I certainly won't watch or support any sport or organization that insults America and our national anthem by playing some racist song alongside it as if they are even remotely on equal terms. That's not the communist crap that I served this country to witness.

I watched 1 game last year...if they do this I'm out again.
