That's at least a 6 loss football team if Treon ever plays again the rest of the season.. oh and Collins is already fired at DC, we have an elite Defense and hired a guy that took that away with prevent defense. Florida has another awful football team. Collins will lose this team at least 4 games himself. That was embarrassing all the way around. Looks like Muschamp is still the head coach and now they don't even have a defense, which is the only thing they even had. It's too bad, but it's reality.

Its maybe a 6 loss team with Grier. He showed this game he is prone to throw it when he shouldnt. Watching LSUs defense they would kill him if he plays like he did tonight. We are screwed on offense regardless come the Tenn game and on probably. Most of our big plays have been kind of schemed stuff that aint gonna work too good against the Ole Miss and LSU type defenses

The defense is now the problem, the longer collins is here the more screwed this football team is. That's for damn sure. He's embarrassing

I didnt like either Coordinator hire but at least Mac runs a lot of the offense.

I actually liked the Collins hire but I mentioned in the game thread the last two weeks that we're very, very undisciplined. We don't tackle well, we take terrible angles, and when we blitz we don't seem to be organized at all. Watch closely...on some of our blitzes we literally have defenders running into each other at the LOS. Like I said, I know what the numbers on our defense say, but I also know what my eyes are telling me. I also dislike the fact that we play so much zone with the DB's we have, we should be contesting most every throw.

And offensively we're screwed with this oline regardless of the QB. We can't run the ball at all. I feel like we need to start Grier to open up with the pass but then our receivers get no separation whatsoever. The only athletes we have in the receiving corps is the TE's and good defenses will take away that easy throw. And then we're just gonna be screwed. Proof of that is the two pics Grier almost threw. In both cases he had to try and squeeze it in because they couldn't separate. Grier not Treon is the problem, we can win with both if the other pieces do their job.

I agree on the offense watching some other teams and think we are in big trouble later in the year. I doubt we will be able to run it either against the better defenses.

Three observations:

1. Our mid-range pass defense is non -existent.

2. Mac going nuts on Taylor did not look good. He needs to cool it. That was worse than Mustard.

3. They gotta sh!tcan those Orange Jerseys once and for all.

All around UGLY game....but at least they pulled out the "W," so that was a plus.

We are what we thought that we were...a below average team that has a lot of rebuilding to do. Glad to have the win but if we play like this next week Kentucky will beat us for sure.

our mid range pass defense is non existent, on purpose... the worst kind, because our DC is awful.

Get ready for it boys, it's as realistic as ever that UK will finally beat us. Even if we get leads our DC will just give them away, on purpose. All that elite talent will just be wasted, we have the miles and richt of Defensive coordinators now. We are screwed as long as he is on this staff

Can't do much without a good OL or DL for that matter. Hopefully Ivey helps some but, that was Muschamp 2.0 last night. If it wasn't for sweat or whatever I saw OT and a loss via a Hardin missed kick.

Grades
OL. D
WR. D
QB. C
DL. C
LB. D
CB/S. D. An F if not Tabor's pick 6.

I would give the defense probably better numbers than that despite the coverage issues with LBs and safeties late in the game. I will say despite looking very good at times I dont think our D line is as good as teams like LSU after watching them.

Numbers you make some great points, except Shannon isn't a better defensive coach than Collins. Those Miami teams never were aggressive. Cover 2 man. You need extremely strong lbs in coverage to make his d work.

Grier just looks to have all the tools. He needs experience which requires patience. If it's close you go with the tools and youth. When they brought Harris in, disrupted the flow. TE's didn't get involved as much from that point either.

Your MLB needs more depth on his drops. #40 plays nasty and with intent when he strikes. He's a good player. Offensive scheming shows your coach knows how to get playmakers the ball. Look how he gets #4 in space several times on defenders that are to slow to check him. Robinson is a NFL player. He's UNSTOPPABLE when focused and engaged. DL played fairly well. ECU ran the quick game a ton.

Your oline has to improve. They're young so your coach has time to get them better and they are missing their most talented player in Ivey.

Numbers, you are the man, you really are. But for a dude who was willing to be patient with Muschamp for a decade or more you are freaking out too soon. Paco warned you guys not to get too excited over beating NMSU, they have one of the worst defenses in the nation for 3 years running.

I think general consensus was that most fans liked our coaching hires but our coordinators were VERY "meh".

The band played from the bleachers at halftime. The entire program is in shambles.

Albert lost like 100 pounds. Alberta looks like a meth head.

Correy Village still has jalousie windows.

Watch the post game press conference Mac is pissed of and almost blew his top!!!! He is 110% right, what u do at practice is how the game is going to go. They had NO discipline at practice this past week and this is how it showed during the game. I bet practice will be late into the evening come Monday!!!!!!

They had discipline last week and this week they didn't have discipline enough to wipe their own butts after taking a dump.

I didn't expect too much from the offense this year because of the O line. I am however very surprised at the defense. I mean... it is holding its own, but it just looks very sloppy and out of control. Something about our defensive play calling just looks unprofessional and erratic.

Defense played a great game until that last 6 minutes of the game...they looked tired and got completely owned. Coaches need to do a better job at stopping that type of an attack but the players need to make plays and they didn't.

The defense was pretty damn good most of the game. Just like in years past the offense has to do a better job to help the defense out. Last nights game was very similar to the last 4 years under Muschamp. Under Muschamp we would have lost last night IMO. The offense did just enough for us to win this one. The offense still needs a lot of work but IMO it is already quite a bit better than any offense we've had the last 4 years. I warned you about getting too high from the New Mexico St game and we are only 2 games into the season with a completely new staff that have to totally change and revamp and change the culture to what has been going on here the last 4 years. It's going to take time. I have no issues with how the game was called last night except it is obvious to me we can't just line up under center and run the ball. We are going to have to be a 100% shotgun team which I'd be more than happy with. Give these coaches a chance

Our defensive numbers are still good across the board because we have elite talent at every level but the scheme nor the discipline is very good. We never have solid rush lanes when pass rushing, we almost never make the first tackle, and we take extremely poor angles. Oh, and we play way too much zone considering the DB's we have. And Morrison needs to be replaced by Anazalone, I respect all he's done to get back but he is way too slow and can't move laterally at all. He doesn't even try to get in his drops against the pass which is why the middle is open play after play after play. He's a huge liability in our pass defense. That said, I'm still a Collins fan but despite the numbers the defense hasn't looked good at all to me. Their raw athleticism has them dominating lesser opponents but they're very undisciplined and don't tackle well at all.

You can't play Anzalone when he's out with an injury.

Oh snap when did that happen? I remember being very impressed with him the first game.

Looks to have all the tools? He played like a mess much of the game?

I think our offensive numbers were better after 2 games last season...

I agree with you...our offense last year would have lost this game. Team needs to play more focused and cut out the mental errors or it will be a LONG year...I think that the defense played really well except for the end of the game. Of course they need to be able to close the game out and the end of this one did get out of hand. I'll be interesting if all of this will bring the team together or hurt us.

Oh snap when did that happen? I remember being very impressed with him the first game.

I think that Mac said last night in the presser that it was a reinjury of something that he's been out on before. I think that he said that it was a "chicken wing" but I'm not sure what that means.

He reinjured the same shoulder that he had surgery on in 2013.

Morrison whiffed on a few. Smh

ECU ran 80 plays for 333 yards. That is only 4.16 yards per play given up by our defense. That is still very good. The defense struggled on a few ECU offensive drive's but overall the defense did well IMO. That was also without two starters in our secondary in VH3 and Neal.

That long haired TE was open all night.

I think the last drive he was abusing Davis mostly with that size and I think it was Maye who let that guy run wide open to the end zone while trying to play catch up. Good thing that QB lost the ball or we were heading to OT.

Yep. The LBers need some work.
