I grew up in a union Democrat household. Mom was active in Democrat politics, and headed up a small state agency in the 70's under Reuben Askew. This state was solid blue dog forever. The Legislature was solid conservative Dem.My dad was a lifelong democrat. The problem is the Democratic Party is not the democratic party of my father. I probably have more in common with old fashion blue dog Democrats from the 80s than I do anybody else. I’m fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Basically a libertarian.
