In order for socialism to work and survive it depends upon the capitalist to fund it.

What has allowed Europe to recover from the second world war and survive as socialist Democrats has been the United States economy or the economy of the United States in those countries that remain more true to capitalism.

What has allowed California and New York in Massachusetts and some other heavily liberal damn near socialistic states to survive has been the capitalism of the United States. Somebody will quit back that New York City pays more taxes than most states in my response to that would be is the capitalist in that city that pay.

As our country becomes increasingly divided philosophically a break is inevitable unless there can be some form of compromise that’s actually true compromise. What sparked the revolutionary war was the concept of taxation without representation. With some of you interesting liberals need to understand is that 75,000,000+ Americans currently feel taxed without representation. And we feel like that was stolen from us.

As the Democrats push all of these executive orders and heavily change the substrate of capitalism and increase our taxes in an attempt mostly to pad their own pockets but certainly under the guise of redistribution of wealth, capitalism, essential to fund all this, will start to crack and crumble.

As that happens, the 75,000,000+ will become increasingly angered At being disavowed from the American dream that we grew up with. Inevitably there will be a schism and a break and at that point the democratic liberals will do everything they can to force the rest of us to live in this nation as opposed to leave it. They will do this because they know all of their policies and socialist plans don’t work without our money.

Throw on top of that the reality that they continue to attack our character every chance they can to paint us as radical white supremacist instead of true Americans loyal to the sentiment upon which his country was founded.

Know please understand, I’m not advocating this break. I love this country and I’m loyal to the America in which I grew up. I will support and defend the Constitution and the government so long as they abide by the constitution and it is my sincere hope that we can find a middle ground, a true compromise, and develop political parties that truly represent the people and not special interest.

I do not advocate violence, I do not advocate revolution, but I hope those in power realize and understand what’s at stake because no nation or no people in the nation can’t survive under a system of taxation without representation forever.

U don’t disrupt anything. You have to add something meaningful to create a change. You haven’t come close to doing that snowflake. Lol

I know 3 individuals that have lived in Manhattan for the past 10-15 yrs.
They all vote Democrat, hate DiBlasio, own businesses, have recently moved the Long Island to get a little tax relief and are currently moving their "home base" to Florida.

My dad was a lifelong democrat. The problem is the Democratic Party is not the democratic party of my father. I probably have more in common with old fashion blue dog Democrats from the 80s than I do anybody else. I’m fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Basically a libertarian.

The sooner people realize that both the Democrats and the Republicans are not what they once were, and that Trump was an enigma that showed us that reality, the better we will all be.

Your friends have been likely unknowingly voting for their own eventual voluntary exile from New York City for years now.

No I welcome debate. But in order to disrupt the echo chamber you have to do more than say, “stick to medicine.” Prove my argument wrong or at least make an argument at all. When you open up with an insult why are you surprised when you get one in return? That’s the problem with America nobody knows how to have a political discussion anymore.

Of course I did. It doesn’t take much to get you knuckle draggers in full lame insult mode. just a few words and you all come a running. It’s quite a talent I have.

The inverse of the paradox is that capitalism was on the verge of collapse in the 1800's until nations started introducing socialist concepts. Revolutions wracked Europe at the time, and that's what gave birth to the likes of Karl Marx. IMO, as with practically everything in life, there needs to be a balance. I like to think of it as capitalism generates the wealth that pays for socialism, while socialism uses some of that wealth to generate the social stability that enables capitalism to thrive.

As for where to draw the balance, I suppose that's what the elections are for. I don't know what the optimal point is at any given time, but the general trend of human history is that as we get wealthier, we get more socialist. As human productivity on average rises, there's an increasing proportion of the population that simply cannot produce enough economic value to earn a living wage. As of right now, we have social security for the elderly, disability for the infirm and such, for example.

In the future, when AI, robots, etc. make many unskilled and even skilled labor redundant, we'll likely have to implement some sort of universal basic income. I don't think we're there yet, but I think the time is coming and perhaps sooner than many may expect.

I will quibble a little bit because what was being overthrown in that period of time was not capitalist government systems but monarchist that were still trying to hold onto some form of control. But in general I Couldn’t agree more with the concept of balance, which is what I meant by compromise, true compromise, somewhere in the middle. Until the world population gets too big, then nothing works.
You and I frequently say the same things just from different perspectives.

@BSC911 please note the civil conversation that @dingyibvs and I are having about the history of political systems. We are finding middle ground that we can agree upon while still stating our cases and understanding of history. Neither one of us is insulting the other one. This is how you have a civil discussion.

LOL.

Would you like me to link some of your other posts.

Pot. Kettle. Don’t give none. Won’t get none.

I’ll be glad to. Let me know when you want to start eliminating the cheap insults. I’ve reached that agreement with others.

I love to talk economics.

The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

LOL Ghost is gone and BSC thought he was ascendant. Smack downs have increased since the departure. As long as there is one conservative, libertarian, or right of center independent on this site he can not and will not take the hill. Poor Wile E Coyote...Beep Beep!

Trump and Ghost are not merely men, they are a nationwide movement. Philistine heathen cucks like BSC, Dora-bella, et all will be smitten by the sword of the righteous. UF GaytorFan will meet Clearasil, sprout some public hair and move out of mommy's basement. Maybe some day he'll get laid too.

I want to like this but I can’t like anything that praises ghost. It’s in my contract

Roflmao. Fry guy loves to talk economics. What are we talking, value meal deals?
Boom! I said something similar in the gas price thread. But he has some experience in this. Diesel cars run on used fry grease. He's got a solid future in recycled french fry oil. Maybe that's what he meant all along.🤣

That was an invitation. Feel free to respond to my original post. Tell me how any of that is wrong. Please explain to me how socialism can fund itself while making everybody Wealthy and or happy
