I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and nearly died. I received the Last Rites and had major transfusions. Luckily I recovered after a solid week in ICU and was blessed two years later with my daughter. You know a whole bunch of different pub men than I do then. Life of the mother is the only exception I would make and most of my pub friends feel the same.
One can not be compelled to die for another.
Some mothers however risk that sacrifice. God Bless them because they unselfishly are doing the right thing.
Ectopics are lost causes and end in the death of the baby regardless.
The FERTLIZED EGG gets stuck in one of the woman's Fallopian tubes but continues growing. Eventually it gets too big for the tube and basically causes the tube to "explode" which means internal bleeding that leads to certain death of the Mother if emergency surgery is not done. These pregnancies cannot go beyond three months because the egg simply gets too big by then and runs out of room.
